They'll find him, Howard. Nothing focuses their efforts quite so fully as something like this. I'm horrified that this happened to you and your family--but thankful that the result was good, and your daughter is safe. Tell us about it when you have the time to do so. Best wishes to you and yours, George |

Title: Re: Tonight I'm the Luckiest man alive!!! Post by Gator on Oct 5th, 2006, 4:08am OMG! That is every parent's (and grand parent's) nightmare. I'm so very happy that your baby is home safe and sound. I hope they catch the scumbag and put him in the general population and "accidentally" let slip what he is in for. Child molesters (they called them "Chicken Hawks" when I worked as a prison guard back in the 80's) don't have much of a life expectancy in the general population. All my best for you and your family. Mike |

Title: Re: Tonight I'm the Luckiest man alive!!! Post by kcopelin on Oct 5th, 2006, 8:36am Howard, Your daughter must be a pretty brave smart little girl! Usually comes from parents who care enough to teach their kids how to be safe. Right on. Parents: if ya have little ones-teach them them to scream as loud as they can-"You're not my daddy" teach em to get away and run really fast, and teach them that its okay to kick, bite scratch or do anything else to hurt someone who is trying to take them. We live in dangerous times. Howard, I thank God your daughter is safe. kathy |

Title: Re: Tonight I'm the Luckiest man alive!!! Post by FramCire on Oct 5th, 2006, 10:09am For those of us with kids that age, could you tell me what your kid did to keep from being abducted. I try to teach my son to find someone they know if a stranger tries to talk to them, but I don't know if my son would remember. Side Note; I work with 3-5 year old kids and whenever they balk at going with me the first time, the parents always seem annoyed but I always congratulate them. It's a sign of good parenting when your kids are weary of strangers, even if you tell them it's OK. You are truely a blessed man, and I, for one, am glad you are. |

Title: Re: Tonight I'm the Luckiest man alive!!! Post by Mattrf on Oct 5th, 2006, 10:34am I am so glad this worked out for the best, man talk about scary, I know my wife and I have both had nightmares about something like this happening to one of our girls. I have always said there is nothing worth going to prison for except one thing, and that is protecting my girls, no one should ever harm innocent little children and those who do have a special room in hell just waiting for them. So glad she is safe, give her a hug from all of us and tell her we are so glad she is safe. Matt |

Title: Re: Tonight I'm the Luckiest man alive!!! Post by mynm156 on Oct 5th, 2006, 11:11am Thanks everybody! It has been a so surreal we were a heartbeat away from living the rest of our lives dead inside. Even with this close call I still CAN NOT FATHOM the level of disaster we nearly desended into. A witness (another little girl) says that the man had been hiding and jumped out from behind a block wall grabed my Auston from behind. Auston kicked him, pushed away his hands causing him to drop her and she ran! (AUSTON WANT TO SAY HI GUYS) yhio.f837104a Today we expect more police here to interview us and the neighbor girl again. Thanks again all! More than you know!! The Holz Family Howard, Angelia, Angelique, Jonathan, Taylor and AUSTON [smiley=laugh.gif] she wanted me to put on the smiley face |

She said that he had a Tattoo of Scooby Doo on his shoulder Which REALLY impressed the Sheriff. Anyway gang Thanks again Howard |

I can see where it would. It's a very strong identifier, and will enable them to track him down much more easily. It's remarkable that a small child would remember it. They'll get him, Howard. It's only a matter of time--and I don't think it will take very long. George |

Title: Re: Tonight I'm the Luckiest man alive!!! Post by mynm156 on Oct 14th, 2006, 11:54pm Just an update after the event the following day i was to expect the Detectives of the Maricopa County Sheriffs Department to follow up. I took that day off to be here. no one showed or even called. I called them and they explained that this was a prority yet there was an officer involved shooting that took up their efforts at the time. I have called now several times and have been told that THEY WILL FOLLOW UP. Yet not even a phone call. I am not sure what to expect and dont get me wrong I am one of the LUCKY ones but this guy is still out there. I now look at every man I see for the man that matches my daughter's discription. If they are not comming then just tell me that and let that be that. Dont tell me its a prority then leave it. Sorry for the rant folks thanks for all the love. Howard |

Title: Re: Tonight I'm the Luckiest man alive!!! Post by Tata on Oct 15th, 2006, 1:29am Howard-- Just wanted to tell you how happy I am for you and yours--thank God !! I had a similar scare last spring with my oldest kids on the way back from the park. One good tip is to teach kids to yell "FIRE" @ the top of their lungs if approached by someone--more people will respond to that than anything else. I don't know where you are, but in our county we can access the Registered Sex Offender's list on the Sherriff's website and look up offenders by county. Our site has pictures, release dates, registration dates, work and home addresses. It also lists any identifying marks and tatoos. It might be worth a look to see if any are near you. We all have the right to know whether one of these offenders is living near us. |
