Title: Re: Pez (not CH of course) Post by Richr8 on Sep 28th, 2006, 10:21pm My son has been collecting them for 15 years. He has 100's of all new releases still in packages. Perhaps if I can get my hands on it I can retire. :) |

What? Are Pez dispensers the new beanie babies? When they released the movie "Titanic", the quicky 1912 shlock shocker that was produced a month after the disaster (otherwise known in the book trade as "that ugly green thing" ) steadily rose in value on e-bay from its years-long entrenchment at 20 bucks apiece to dizzying heights of 200 to 300 dollars. Copies were bought and sold on speculation, and mini-fortunes were made. The rare-books section of Ebay was swamped with Titanic tycoons, all scrambling to get multiple copies of the thing. Now that the movie is a thing of the past, copies sell for--20 bucks apiece. E-bay is a weird place. Best, George |

Title: Re: Pez (not CH of course) Post by Charlie on Sep 29th, 2006, 8:16pm Titanic is big stuff. There must be a dozen films. (I'm not crazy about the new one, but don't tell anyone) I like the 1950s "A Night To Remember." The book was the same title I believe. I loved Pez. We used to shoot them at each other....had to be pretty close..... 8) I wish I had a few thousand dispensers for sale. They go nuts. Charlie |

Title: Re: Pez (not CH of course) Post by BMoneeTheMoneeMan on Sep 30th, 2006, 3:25am I wonder if eating cherry flavored Pez, (or in Charlie's case - shooting them at each other) would help with the clusters. I'll be the beta-tester. |

Title: Re: Pez (not CH of course) Post by georgej on Sep 30th, 2006, 3:45am Looked up the full title of "The Ugly Green Thing". It's: Memorial Edition--The Sinking of the "Titanic"--Most Appalling Ocean Horror with Graphic Descriptions of Hundreds Swept to Eternity Beneath the Waves; Panic Stricken Multitudes Facing Sure Death, and Thrilling Stories of This Most Overwhelming Catastrophe. I've seen a couple of copies. I also see that a few unlucky bookmen are still trying to unload them for a couple of hundred bucks. Must have gotten stuck with them when the Titanic market collapsed. This is not a rare book. Love the title. Best, George |
