Title: thought this fit!
Post by aubmari on Sep 27th, 2006, 6:25pm
Ours is not the task of fixing the entire world all at once,
but of stretching out to mend the part of the world that is within our reach.

Any small calm thing that one soul can do to help another soul, to assist some portion of this poor suffering world, will help immensely.

**** This is what this place does for people. It really is comfort ya know? All of you are great!

Agree and I'm glad you're here.

Your post alone makes things a bit brighter for many.

A candle in the darkness.....

I used to think of this place as a lighthouse...

after we get blown out to sea, calm returns and we can find our way back to the beacon....

Yep.  It's a lifeline, a lighthouse, a comfort, an invitation, a hug when you need it and a kick in the pants when you need that.

A man is walking down a beach and sees another man off in the distance walking toward him. Every few steps the other man bends down, picks something up and throws it in the water.

This continues for almost an hour as they approach to within talking distance.

The first guy asks the second guy what he is doing.

The second guy says" It's low tide, look around you, there are thousands of starfish stranded and dying."

The first guy says" There are thousands of them. How do you expect to save them all?"

At that the second guy replys "Well, I cant save them all"  bends down, picks up a starfish and tosses it into the water and replys "but I just saved that one."

One sufferer at a time.
