Title: Re: Skilly is back, anyone here now that was here Post by lskilly on Sep 27th, 2006, 7:35pm Yep it was here 8 years ago. Just a fledgling site but I see it has blossomed. Hard to believe there are so many of us. I am 66 now and glad to say hello again to those who can understand when I say it hurts. I live in Western Washington and looking at the map I see there are not to many of us here. I used to chat with one guy from Oregon and a lady from PA be cant remember their names. Currently I am back in Biofeedback to control the pain. Aslo have Zomig on hand in case I cant abort the cluster. I was able to control the cluster and got confident. Didnt keep doing the biofeedback work thought man I have these whipped. That was dumb. |

Title: Re: Skilly is back, anyone here now that was here Post by lskilly on Oct 1st, 2006, 1:08pm Hi Carla Nice to say hello. Hard to believe so many suffer with the same pain and still not an answer. when I went to my doc he looked through my files and said they tried everything before and thats all thats' available other than the Zomig and the nasal spay imitrex that was justcoming out then. The support of the board then and now is great. Just commuicating with others that can understand is heartning. I am still mostly in the one a night phase but am having a few at odd times during the day. Tried to come here during an attack but cant stand to try and read. I am progressing with the self hypnosis and am able to go deeper into the trance to block the pain. It's still takeing me 30 minutes or so to get to that level but when I finnaly get there I can ease the pain. |

Title: Re: Skilly is back, anyone here now that was here Post by DonnaHar on Oct 1st, 2006, 3:36pm I joined in mid 1999, so we must know some of the same people......thing is, those who left come back with new names which I don't recognize. Is yours the same now as it was then? Those of us in our '60's didn't have any meds to use on CH. Later, Sansert came out for Horner's Syndrome which many of us were diagnosed with, but that didn't work on me and I heard such bad things about it later that I was glad it didn't work. I stopped having CH's in 1986 and was never treated for cluster headaches, but found this site when my son was in a bad cycle. He found relief with Prednisone. Like others say, sorry you had to look for us again, but glad you found us. Welcome home. |

Title: Re: Skilly is back, anyone here now that was here Post by Karla on Oct 1st, 2006, 3:54pm The nasal spray is something you are going to want to try! It works and takes away the ha as fast as a shot without the needles. In 6-15 min. the pain is gone. That beats an hr effect for the imitrex pill. Good luck! |
