I want to wish my Jewish friends a Happy New Year !!! I work in NYC every night/early morning and with the UN Crap going on it has been busy---so a little early --but-happy Rosh !!!

Living in a very Orthodox Jewish neighborhood, I remember quite distinctly the sounds of "Happy New Year".ringing out. just as I had gone back to school each year. Being the shiksa in this community, and new to it as well, I was, to say the least, perplexed- till one time, I was invited to a family's seder. What a touching ceremony! For quite awhile, my friend would invite me for seder, and she always joined with us at Christmas. It was good for us both to learn other traditions.
