Cleaning up the mess that was left after this water finally went down.

This is what my front yard looked like for 4 hours on Wednesday.

I have been cleaning stuff up for the last4 days and I will probably smell like bleach for a week.

Thanks to all of you who contacted me and offered advice/help/both.

I have a big mess to clean up but there a lot of people around me who are living in RVs in their driveways right now because of the damage.

I consider myself fortunate.

Did anyone figure out where the levy broke? :-/

The company that built it hasn't admited it yet but there was a section that was not finished yet that sat looking like this for at least 4 weeks.

It's only a few feet high there and those pipes running under it from one side to the other have no valves in them. When the water came over the flood wall, it didn't take long for it to get there.

They were out there fixing it on Saturday. That whole area is built up over 10 feet higher now.

I think they have wrongly assumed that nobody knows about this.

This sort of thing can be devastating...you were lucky, it seems.
