Tomorrow morning I'm attending a "Food for Thought" festival in conjunction with our farmer's market downtown on the capitol square.  Mollie Katzen (Moosewood Cookbook author) will be giving demonstrations.  It's generally all about cooking with whole foods, locally grown, etc. :)  I'm taking my camera--maybe I'll post some pics.

Goofing off this morning, going to go see "The Illusionist" with El and Liz this afternoon.  Had lunch with Liz yesterday near her downtown office.  Boise's beloved downtown peregrine falcons were flying around, harrassing the pigeons.  Pretty cool.

Just got tickets to see the Broadway production of "Chicago" that will be here in a couple weeks.  Should be fun.

Best,

George

Going to set up to sell the old domain name in order to pay for the new one (hahaha).  Keep your fingers crossed!

Also going to paint the 2 front doors of the house so it looks more like a house again and not a run down hole!

As to what else? I have no fucking clue. :-/

Good luck hunting!

I'll be outside cleaning all of my daughter's 'outside' toys with bleach to get all of the skanky river/flood water cleaned off of them and then it's time to try and hunt down some of the stuff that got swept away by the water.

I"ll also se if I can help a few of the neighbors finish up with their clean up.

Watch out for the fire! ;;D

I'm working an event for 10 people...4 courses, ultra-high end catering and they are paying because I'm in cycle big time! ;)

Here is what they are having...I'll take pix and post them Sunday or Monday...
-Roasted Red Curry Squash(Red Curry is a type of squash) Soup with Olive Oil, Lobster, Citrus and 50 Year Old Balsamic Vinegar
-Bleu Pear Salad  Baby Field Greens, Sauteed Bosc Pears, Poached Yukon Gold Potatoes, Bleu Cheese and Bacon Vinaigrette
-Roasted Pork Loin with Sauce Provencal, Cous Cous and Carmelized Fennel and Chilean Sea Bass with Port infused Shallots and Foie Gras Demi Glace
-Chocolate Brioche Bread Pudding with Brown Butter Bananas and Rum Foam

'tis going to be a bitch to plate, but it should be well worth the $$$$

Continue my nervous breakdown and contemplate giving up music and selling everything I own due to the fact I am frustrated as fuck that I can't get a gig happening or a recording done and am sick of it all.

You think I'm joking?

All I have wanted the past year is to get my Jackson back. It took everything I had to get it back. This morning, all I could think about while tossing and turning in between 2 CHs and several vomiting episodes is the possibility of selling my baby and giving up music altogether.

Sorry to be 'Debbie Downer" but I have had a shit-week and am frustrated as fuck about everything happening. Not sleeping much again, and can't hardly eat due to nerves being shot.

My mom always said "Either shit or get off the pot!" Well, since I haven't been able to do shit, there is no use continuing to torture myself with this - which is all I will be doing with fighting to do music and having it blow up in my face everytime.

Sorry to be heavy, but that is what I will be doing this weekend. If I do sell my Jackson, I'll probably never get what it is worth, because - it is worth beyond money to me.  :-[

And for those of you yelling it at me now... I'll STFU.

Carl

My husband and I are picking up my son and daughter in law and going to shot pool for an hour, then go to a steak and chicken wings place and eat our hearts out.  Then when that is done we will drive an hour to see Romeo and Juliet performed in an outdoor theature.  This was to celebrate my daughter in laws Birthday.  I can't wait!

Wait!  That is what I did last weekend.  We had a blast!  This weekend I will sit home and continue to box up junk for a rumage sale.

You take care of yourself now. If you try to sell that guitar, I'll send people to knock you silly.

That's the only thing that keeps your sanity for you. Don't get rid of it.

What sent me 'over the edge' was seeing the band "MUSE" last night at the Pageant, being utterly blown away as it was hands down one of the best shows I have ever witnessed, and all I could think about all night in bed is, "I have been trying to record for a year and have not one track done. I feel like I have a full tank of gas with no engine in the car, so to speak.

Just frustrated bro. I'll be okay.

And the thought, taste, or smell of food right now makes me technicolour yawn.

Saturday my bride and I are moving most of the rest of my father-in-law's stuff out of his apartment (he lives with us now cuzonaccounta he's not very good at taking care of himself anymore).

Sunday I'll probably try to sleep late (operative word: try) and then watch the Packers get their collective ass handed to them by the Saints.

Carl, have you thought about moving to a bigger city where you can continue working in a field you enjoy while keeping music at a "hobby" status until you make some connections?

other than that nothing just simply nothing……….

Oh well for that certain kind I’ll volunteer………

You guys are much more exciting than the brewcrew family . . .

We spent this morning packing up the remaining odds and ends of grampa's apartment and moving all of it to storage or home with us.  Gave SIL the keys so she can clean it up and make it beautiful for the next tenant.

We had a party invitation that was rescheduled to tonight but we can't go cuz there's no one to watch gramps.

Tomorrow it's clean up, wash up, and get ready for another week of taking care of gramps . . . . . the highlight of which will be two doctor's appointments at the VA hospital on Monday . . . .

At least the DHE treatment brew went through in August seems to have knocked him out of cycle.  I'm not looking forward to taking care of gramps and then brew too, if he goes back to chronic . . . . .

(sigh - I hate getting old!)

No! No! No!
I have been through alot on my own, I will make it on my own. I spent all day yesterday and today pestering musician friends, and may have a few gig opportunities to come. THAT will save my soul - playing some rock and roll and paying some bills. I may sell everything else, but I can't sell my baby. I've tortured about it enough and this is one thing I can not part with because it is such a big part of me. I'll be fine.
I think a benefit should be done for Ken Olsen's family. That's who could use it the most I think.
Also there should be another OUCH benefit, but I've tried wearing that hat and it didn't fit, but there are other needs here.

As soon as I can get a bit ahead, it will be in the mail. Right now the reason I am so desperate for a gig is I have nothing to live on for another two weeks. I'm always broke the minute I get paid. But you'll get it back, and that is a PROMISE!

Peace,
Carl D

Let's see now...

I went to our summer cottage with mum and we put the place in order for the winter. That meant 2 days of hard work.

I took 2 long walks in a sunny weather, saw some swans and one tiny frog.

Came home, arranged my food cabinets as mum packed me lots of food which we had had at our summer cottage.

Now I'm making a pancake with red and black currants. :)
