Title: Re: ANYONE HERE AN ASE CERTIFIED MECHANIC Post by Melissa on Sep 12th, 2006, 9:48pm Is that the 2 year tech college certificate? My brother in law is a certified mechanic. My husband knows vehicles better than him, and he's never taken a class on it besides auto in high school. [smiley=laugh.gif] I'm happy for you and congratulations! :)mel |

The course I am taking (starts on the 29th!!!!!) is 50 weeks long (total 1200 hours) its really cool because I go from 7 till 12 and I was able to keep my job as well (or part of it I guess...) I have been wrenching on cars my whole life....but you cant make any(or good) money without credentials. |

Title: Re: ANYONE HERE AN ASE CERTIFIED MECHANIC Post by roy21302 on Sep 13th, 2006, 3:03pm Nick, I am not a mechanic, I am a long retired cop, but I sincerely commend you for what you are doing. It must have taken a lot of thinking about but it will be worth the work in the long run. I wish you every success in your studies and your future as a mechanic, good luck-------------------------------------------Cheers Roy [smiley=thumbsup.gif] |

Title: Re: ANYONE HERE AN ASE CERTIFIED MECHANIC Post by alchemy on Sep 13th, 2006, 6:20pm Nick congatulations, you made a damn good decision. I've seen from the dealership standpoint the difference in pay between certified and not. most dealership require certification. the more certs you get the more pay. goodluck |
