I am having severe back pain. I had a bulging disk 5 years ago and had L5/S1 removed. I recovered. But I couldn't stand, sit or lay down. The pain finally exceeded that of ch and I went in and had emergency surgery.

I tned to wait until things are worse than my ch. Again this is the case. I am not sure what is wrong with my back but again I can't lay, sit, or stand. I am suppose to go get a pain shot tonight and followup with a dr in my clinic tomorrow to see if he might be able to help me figure out what is wrong.

I hope it is nothing serious. I hate pain that exceeds ch or close to it. Then they find out I am on the patch for ch and say that should cover pain for your back. However, wehen things go seriously wrong for me. The pain level will exceed that of the patch. I just hope I get some sleep tonight and my dr orders the correct tests quickly tomorrow so I can get some answers.

Wishing you LOTS of PF wishes on the back.......could it be a FLAREUP......not exactly sure what a flareup consists of but I get them a few times a year.....basically it exceeds the chronic pain to unbearable levels. Lasts sumtimes a few weeks to a few months. Breakthru pain meds can 'help'.....but of course SUMTHIN is wrong ! I have alot of trouble with the area you had removed.....and now a crooked area in the middle that's turnin BAD and think it mite of been from the severe whiplash when in highschool damaged area letting go......GOOD LUCK to you and keep us posted. That along with CH has got to be PURE HELL !! And yeah....I noticed that with the patches too.....seem to sumwhat help but if the pain levels go up for whatever reason they DON'T work. Pain in the back pal Pam

I'm sorry to hear about your back, Karla. Back problems can be miserable--my youngest brother had back surgery that was successful, but subsequently got a blood clot on his spine that caused further complications.

Sincere hopes and best wishes for your full recovery. You are in my thoughts.
