My daughter, Amanda, will be flying out to LA on 9/14 so she can go to her taping for Wheel of Fotrune! We don't know yet when her show will air, but she will definitely be on TV!

Her husband, Jason, and my hubby Tarey and I are going to also fly out to be in the audience for her!

They advertised for try-outs in Savannah several months ago, and both Amanda and Jason went down to give it a shot. Neither one was chosen, but about two weeks later, Amanda got a call to come back down for another test - and THEY PICKED HER!

I'll re-post airing information here as soon as I know when she's going to be on - I want my cluster family to meet my lovely daughter - and start sending those vibes to her! We want her to come home with some MONEY!

Good luck to your daughter. Please do be sure to let us know when it airs. It's one of my favourite shows to watch except I do find that it makes me yell at the TV when I know the answer and the contestant doesn't seem to have it figured out yet.

Okey Dokey

My flights are booked - hubby Tarey and I are flying out to LA to cheer Amanda on to big money! Leaving on the 14th, and will be back on the 17th. Wish her luck.

Oh, and while you're at it - please wish me luck because the beast is trying to make another appearance in my life, and I'm not looking forward to a long plane ride with very few weapons in my carry-on.

I'll let ya'll know when her show will be aired.

She did GREAT!

She didn't win her game and get to go to the bonus round but she ended up with cash money of $12,150.00! She had a ball doing Wheel, and we had a great time watching it.

Her show will air on Wednesday 11/29 - so everybody please watch Amanda. She's the little blond in the middle.

By the way, Vanna White is TEENSY. She can't be more than 5'2" and probably wears a size 0. Pat Sejak is about 5'4".

The whole trip was fun - after Amanda's Friday taping of the show, we went to Marina del Rey for dinner at a fantastic place overlooking the water - watched the sunset. Saturday we spent in Santa Monica. Sunday we spent on a plane :P, and waited for our luggage to be delivered to our home at 1:00 this morning.

Mark your calendars - 11/29 - Wheel of Fortune.

Nope, the beast left me alone for the entire trip. I was so happy. I had no problems on the plane, coming or going. The only twinges I had were when we landed in LA (Smog??) I had dosed on Monday before leaving, and brought my weapons planning on another dose Friday night or Saturday, if I needed it. I didn't - and still don't. Life is good.

Sandy - congrats to your daughter. That's not a bad amount of money for a short time of some fun for her.

I'm very curious though, as a Canadian. We've heard that when folks from the US win $$ on any quiz show or talent show that your Dept. of Revenue takes right off the top. Is that true? We've actually heard up to 40%. I'd hate to think that some uniformed little troll in a uniform would actually sit there with a calculator in hand.

Winnings here are tax free. Course interest earned on those same winnings is taxed.

Dont get me started with the IRS, im in a battle and a half.

They say I owe $5741 for my last quater....which I paid!!!!

But, they dont realise that they sent me a fucking return of $5850....which is what they fucking owed me!!!

How screwed up is that shit?

Jeff - yes, I think I saw some apartment buildings at the marina. We walked and walked and walked all around the place. We ate at Shanghi Red's on a street named Fiji Way?
Really nice.

As far as taxes go, Amanda won't receive her winnings until next March??????? [smiley=huh.gif], and they will send her a 1099 at the end of 2007. California will nab a small percentage (7% I think), and as far as the rest, she just has to declare it as income and pay the appropriate tax on it. We don't know if she will have to pay anything to the state of SC though. She's got an accountant - he's going to have to figure this one out.

Again, thanks for your congratulations. I'll remind everybody to watch.
