Post by Yorky on Aug 29th, 2006, 1:13pm
in response to alchemy's post:we are all wrong.

as alchemy as pointed out....his new neuro..is frkin clueless.
i just thought..mmmmm..at these non productive appointment's with know nothing doctor's(and we know, they are on the wrong path diagnosis etc)
maybe we should wip out a camera, take their photo.........then shame them...ie  if you have an appointment with dr whoever, who is clueless, then get is photo...is adress..then maybe,we could write and,
educate these..these.....non beleiving..aspirin giving knownowt's..rant over...

I read this a a joke

What can happend if we do this????

The doctors can and i am pretty sure in the end will deny any patients with clusterheadaches or headaches in general.

Is it worth that risk?

NO

I too thought this was tongue -in -cheek!

We already have a way of recommending good docs thru OUCH we better keep it at that.

Yorki,
With all due respect I know what you mean, but you better put this idea back in the oven for a while because its only half baked at the moment.  Your suggestion could do our cause more harm than good, the majority of them are on our side and willing to learn, its just that some are slow-----you just have to arm yourself with as much info as you can and offer it when you attend for your appointment, it also help to keep your finger crossed----------------------Cheers Roy ;;D

Perhaps a better idea would be to contact OUCH via the contact OUCH emails and we can start making a list of docs who may need information about diagnosing and treating cluster headaches?

One of the things we discussed at convention was putting together a package just for such purposes.

Educate, don't humiliate.

This is an AWESOME idea.  My wife is a doctor and she and I have spent time printing articles for my doctors on CH and it has been received very well.

A shame list could lead to lawsuits most likely but i doubt any doctors would stop treating the patients over it.  However, it wouldn't do us any good anyway.  Education is the key.

Glad you have seen the light, I still think the best bet is to arm yourself with facts from this site, print them out and when you go for your appointment you can at least offer them to whoever you are seeing.  It does not always work, some doctors I have seen have not been too keen on looking at stuff I have printed out. They seem to think a patient should not be showing them thing!!! But its worht a try and you can always forget to pick it up on the way out!!! -----------------------------------------------------------Cheers Roy ;;D

Don't you think maybe that dumb doc was practiceing what the med inserts warnings say and goin tooooo much by the book....is he new ? I dunno.....sueing has become such a way of life for sum people it is effecting our own care and needs. I think a doc exprienced in sum condtions knows like with alot of meds anyhow that you HAVE to script more then what the warnings allow to work. But maybe just keep in mind it MITE be just for so many months with episodics and maybe the risk is worth it to chronics. I should stay out of this one Pam

I don't know about it boomeranging but it wouldn't do a lot of good for our side. Most likely nothing. A lot of these guys live insular lives and don't pay a lot of attention to things that they don't discover for themselves.
