I am sitting here sleep deprived and just got hit with a killer fucking thought...

Not sure if y'all are hip to YOUTUBE but there are thousands of videos out there from bands, home videos and also short films. Here's my idea...

Clusterchuck allowed himself to be filmed back in Nashville 2004 during a full-blown attack. The footage is very disturbing and hard to watch. In fact, some medical professionals had a hard time viewing it.

Why not put this video on Youtube? Then everyone could email the link to everyone they know and spread the awareness of CH through Youtube. I also thought of a second video of someone explaining in detail what a cluster is.

Check out and browse Youtube for yourself. Gator asked for ideas to spread the word, and I think this would be a good one!

I don't want to go to bed. I haven't been hit in almost 48 hours but know with the pressure in my fricken head right now what is going to happen as soon as I lay down.  Carl, I think it is a killer idea! How about a second vid with cameo one or two line ops from across the board: sufferer's, supporter's, children of etc.

BTW thanks for your support on some other threads and it is comin right back at ya bro! I'm really bummed that your back on this wagon again....now kick some ass and get the fuck off ;).......tim

Hell... why stop at 2 videos? There is lots to know about this unheard of malady. Great idea for another vid bro!

In case you don't understand the levity of this...

If you are on youtube, people will browse your stuff. My buddy Fred has posted alot of bootleg concert footage and has had over 1'000'000 views! They have even viewed misc. stuff that isn't music since it is on his account with youtube.

Everybody scopes out youtube stuff just browsing around. If something has had a particular large number of hits for the day or week, it will appear on the homepage. I've watched alot of various stuff on there, and think if Chuck's video gets on there (and any other cluster related video) it will give CH some exposure.

Again, check out the site. It speaks for itself!!!

I have some video stuff embedded on my Myspace page from YouTube.com

I talk about clusters on my page, and could embed it onto my page. There are more and more CHeads getting Myspace as well, and everyone could easily embed the coding into their profile. (I can post how to do it in 3 easy steps and talk anyone through it).

Myspace.com is one of the top 10 websites in the world with over 104'000'000 members and growing!
When I joined this time last year, it had 40'000'000 members. The thing is huge now.

There are also Clusterhead groups on Myspace where the youtube stuff can be posted...

Do you see where I am going with this?

I know. I sent Chuck a PM but haven't heard back from him yet on this. If Chuck says yes, I will email both Justin and Luke to get thier permission.

OK, Carl, I have given this a lot of thought.  My first reaction was to say, sure, go ahead.  But then I went on the site, and watch a BUNCH of the videos there.  That is an AWESOME site.  Funny as hell!!!


BUT (isn't that one of the most dreaded words?) after spending all that time on the site, I don't think it is the appropriate place to put something as serious as this is.  I think it would lessen its value, and people may think it is just a farce or joke of some sort.  I may be wrong, but this is what I see and feel.

Besides that, I don't have the say in this, anyway.  I gave all rights to it to Justin.  I really don't see him OK'ing this, though.  It is his call, not mine, but thanks so much for asking me.

I think we could better promote this video, and any others that he collects, by asking Justin what we can do to help him get his documentary finished.  His documentary can do HUGE things for us.

Anyhow, those are my thoughts on it.

There is no need to take chanses to turn the tape in to a "bad comedyshow"

Its way to much worth for us.The best way we can use the tape is for educational purposes

I understand how you feel Chuck, and you're quite possibly right about it not being taken seriously or degrading the value. Youtube is full of comedy shorts, music clips, etc. but does have other stuf on it. Everything is tagged on there to help with searches, and with the thousands of videos out there I did a search on youtube for cluster headache and only found 5 videos = 4 of which were clips from the movie "Pi" (posted by someone named EuphoricDream 4 weeks ago) and a girl who is doing a 9 minute video journal talking about all kinds of stuff and then mentions, "I had a cluster headache attack yesterday that was very annoying. My father suffers from cluster headaches and it seems I have inherited the trait so.." and then she proceeds to ramble about other stuff.
I thought since there is very little on there about CH, it might be a good platform to get exposure.

I do understand where you are coming from on this though and completely agree that we need to do anything we can do to get that documentary finished and out there. About the only thing I could provide is music, and plan to email Justin on that.

I still think that youtube would be a great source to get the word out about CH, and (big nervous sigh here) may subject myself to being taped during an attack and throw it out there with a voice-over explaining what is happening. Also, a warning at the beginning of the film that "what you are about to view contains disturbing images of someone suffering from a cluster headache attack. This should not be viewed by children." Someone may think it's a farce, but I also think if they watch for longer than one minute, they will rezlize that it is not a farce, and they are watching something hardcore that they know nothing about and may even do a bit of research on the topic. You never know... someone might view the clip and realize someone they know has CH and they were misdiagnosed.

I see both the ups and downs of this. I'm just trying to think of things to further the cause.

*edit to add - If my balls do get big enough to put a clip out there of myself in an attack, I will put the proper tags on it: medical - headache - cluster headache - extreme headache, and anything that might draw someone to the page. Without the comedy tag on it, I think it would be taken seriously.
