Title: For Jonny Post by Paul98 on Aug 25th, 2006, 7:15pm http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b6d604b3127cce8c10c440f0a500000016100AZuWzdi0Ys2IA Thought you would enjoy this. Not as exotic as an eagle but Turkey Vultures are impressive in size and flight. I was hiking in the mountains and took a rest at the edge of a cliff. Kept having a shadow pass over me and saw a vulture riding the updraft from the cliff. I was wandering around the edge trying to get it in the view finder. I'm lucky I didn't fall off the edge! ( I think that is what the vulture was hopeing for. [smiley=laugh.gif]) -P. |

It took me 6 tries to get it because the bird kept moving and I was using a semi telephoto lense. I was bummed that I didn't have time to set the resolution on the camera higher. You can almost see the bird thinking to himself...just 2 more steps sucker and I'll be eating for a week... -P. |

Really a cool site.......we've came up on them on the bike before too and they took off at the last minute (weren't tryin to hit them and we jus veer around em) and Brad got smacked by there wings !!!! The hills have wings Pam Brad startled one the other day in the road when he was on his bike and it took off flying rite next to him and was throwing up....they do that when they get scared or startled. He was laughin so hard he bout fell over. And what comes out was sumthin really gross that went in........ewwwwwwwww............... |
