Seems like just a couple of years ago I entered my bands rehearsal space with several bottles of wine to jam and celebrate her coming into the world. Yep, the one thing I've learned as a father is that you REALLY have to pay attention to every little detail as best you can while they're growing up. Our perception of the passage of time accelerates as we get older, and that's why "they seem to grow up so darned fast." Regardless, we do need to cherish every moment with them. Even the times when they think we're full of shit. It's those times when they are maturing - when they see their parents for what they are: flawed human beings. |
