Title: Inbetween the balloons and diapers (pic)... Post by Melissa on Aug 23rd, 2006, 1:13pm I have still been transferring my anxiety into my knitting. Here is my latest creation in the same strawberry red baby alpaca yarn that I had put up here before. Took me 2 months to make, measures 27"X32", but I loved doing it the whole time. Since it was so time consuming and I have no one here at home worth giving it to (like a niece), I'm throwing it up on eBay for the hell of it. The nurse is driving my husband home from the hospital. Seems he got "a little cut on his lip", or so he tells me. :-/ I could hear the nurse in the backround telling me Jesse will be out of work for a couple days. Looks like I'll be starting on another blanket really soon!!!! :o |

Post by Melissa on Aug 23rd, 2006, 1:53pm omg.... he put a metal rod into the machine, like he's done a 100 times before. this time it kicked back at him. it went into the side of his mouth, almost all the way out through the bottom of his jaw. :'( :'( :'( :'( it says on the ER sheet, post traumatic laceration, through & through lower lip, or something like that. (it's hard to read the writing) he has to eat blended food for a week, can't go back to work for a couple days, and after that they are either going to try and find him light duty, or if he wants to, he can go back on the machine. No heavy lifting and he needs to make an appt. with the cosmetic surgeon (who I think is the one who stitched him up) He could have been killed!!! :'( :'( modified to correct |

Back when Jimbo/PL259 was still chasing people with the clap, I used to live in fear that I'd get a phone call that something had happened to him (he had to go to crack houses and wonderful places like that). Then came Katrina, and I found out what real fear was. Here's hoping that the forecasters have to say, "We vastly overestimated the number of hurricanes for this season". Your blankets are so pretty. I used to knit, but quit and then forgot how to do it. So........I just crochet (and quilt sometimes). I've finished one baby blanket, got another one going, and then have one that I need to get made. One year for Christmas (before my maw-in-law died), I made her a lap blanket using the popcorn stitch. 'darlin |
