Title: anyone in military with CH
Post by crftymom on Aug 20th, 2006, 2:45am
Hi all.   I haven't been on here in a while.  My son Dawson was diagnosed with CH when he was 6 now 7.  Well, we have been lucky that he has been PF since Feb.  We are navy and have been on the move.  We just got out to San DIego and I'm hoping to get some info on Docs.  The military is not very quick to send you to appropriate DR's.  So if I could get a heads up.  The last neuro was not very helpful.  We went armed with info from this site, and that's what he went with.  But My son also has Crossing the Mid-Line issues.  They seemed to get worse with his CH.  Neuro say no connection.  So any help with finding a neuro that is somewhat familier with Ch in children would be of great help.  I would like to get set up before the next cycle(not sure if and when that will be).  We are very new to this.  Thank you for any info.
PF thoughts to all!

I don't live in California....but I want to say how I detest the fact that small children suffer with this pain.

Bless his heart... :'(

We have some sufferer's in Ca.   Not sure if they're in San Diego though.

My best wishes to you...I hope you find a really good doc for Dawson.   He deserves the best!

Jean

Hi crfty, I have emailed your question to my brother in law. He was recently discharged form the Air Force, and is a doctor. Hopefully, he'll actually get to it quickly and give me some answers. I'll either post it here, or PM it to you. (he's the worst about checking his email...I'll call him if he doesn't get to it soon). pf wishes to your son.

Check out the doctor list from the OACH web site and see if any of them are near where you are.

I started getting my CHs when I was in The USMC.  I saw many Navy Docs and they were horrible.  They miss diagnosed me and gave me meds  that ended up making they headaches worse.  After some research I found out that most of the Navy Docs where I was stationed were not licsenced by any state let alone the state that I was stationed in.

My advice is to go to a doctor off base most definately!!
See Mattrf's post above.
