I just got home from work, and I've been having a lot harder time than usual lately with respect to migraine and clusters... Been to the neuro like 3 times in a couple of weeks, and had a really bad neuro appt on Wednesday... (See blog if interested in the full story...it's one of the first few posts at http://neonursechic.blogspot.com - the one entitled "Quite Upset) and even managed to have a cluster headache attack while at my psychiatrist's office...

But anyways.....I walked into my apartment building tonight, opened the mail, and got this priority mail envelope from the US Government. It says: US Government Official Mail, and I knew instantly what it was.......

MY PASSPORT!!!!!

That means....I'm officially going to LONDON!!!! I leave in just 25 days - on 9/13 is my flight over, and I'll be staying for 8 days once I'm there (since I arrive the morning of the 14th). I'm not staying in London alone anymore because Helen found us tickets to go to the Migraine Trust conference just on the public day for only £10, so now I'm staying with her the entire time. Isn't she lucky?

Who should be more afraid? Helen? Me? Or Matt and Mary once they show up!! ;) ;) Oh and Sanna might even be coming, too!!! :)

I had bought my plane ticket a couple of weeks ago. I will be flying direct from Philadelphia to London (Heathrow) on British Airways. I've been watching the news rather apprehensively about what can and cannot be carried onto the plane, and I think I need to make an appt with my primary doc to get a certified letter regarding my medications...just in case. I don't use imitrex, so I don't have to worry about not having that on the plane since it's a liquid, but you never know what might develop between now and then or even while I'm over there, and I don't want to get caught without meds. Especially since being without some of my meds is actually really dangerous.

I'M SO EXCITED!!!! Look out England - they'll never know what hit them once all of us are together. ;)

Just had to share...! This really made my night, and I needed something like this!

Carrie,

I'm so glad that your passport arrived. I hope that it made your tough week a bit brighter! :)

And I don't think that you nor Helen should be afraid. Just the people around should... ;) Nothing can beat the "clusterforce"! ;;D

I'm figuring out how I can made the ends meet so that I can come, too. It's too good event to miss... :)

Its going to be alot of fun! I've got loads of places to go planned and people to see and I promise you that you'll be in safe hands.. on the flights to and from the UK that is! ;)

Helen - Can we go to Paris for the day still? I want TWO visa stamps on my passport!!! (Aren't I greedy?? LMAO) I'm just kidding really..... I'm just so excited and I haven't had a question in my mind that we're going to have a terrific time!!! Thank you again soooooooooooooooo much for hosting me and everything else. I do believe we might have to go to a spa or something else - my treat. ;) Counting the hours!!!

I don't know if we can get to Paris Carrie but we can do either Calais or Boulogne with ease! I can take you to see the white cliffs of Dover at the same time then and a few castles in Kent, we can stay overnight with my bestest best friend for over 25 years now and you can meet her too which will be nice - she wants to come ot the convention with me next year so it can be a dress rehersal for her!

Sounds good!! :) Still can't wait.. I' m just going to meet my mom at the King of Prussia mall in a few to go shopping for clothes to bring with me! Someone told me that I need clothes for early fall - pants, a jacket, and maybe some lighter sweaters. Any further advice before I go???

No hon, early fall is exactly what it will be here although we can have some warmer weather so layering is a good idea

They are correct......After September 1, British law requires the wearing of clothes in public.

LOL You guys...

Well I did get my shopping done today and got some new clothes to take over!! :) I guess it would have been better to buy a fall wardrobe slowly overtime so that the bill didn't hurt quite so much, but I desperately needed clothes to bring with me since the majority of my clothes are scrubs! ;) I'm starting to feel more prepared now!!! :)

This really is going to be a blast! :)

That trip sounds SO EXCITEING !!!! I never know what clothes to take on vacations esp if I am unsure of the weather. Hate to not have enuff warm stuff if needed.....I jus never know what to take to other areas or what the style mite be. Hope ya have a super duper time over there........would be cool to see Paris. Is it real far from there or sumthin ?? Town with a tower Pam
