Buy a bunch of different sizes, test it out and get back to me. ;) Ok, I am sooo confused here! I still cannot figure out this whole tax thing. I emailed the WI Dept. of Revenue to ask them a few questions about if I need to charge sales tax (which I'm pretty sure I do) and if I need a sellers permit (which I am confused on since I do not just buy stuff and resell it the way I got it... Ok, except for this ONE TIME). I know I don't need a business licesnse, as it is not required in this state (I already called about that one). I hate the IRS, I don't hate the people who work for them (you know who you are! ;)), I just think the whole damn system is confusing and frustrating and how so many more people would go into businesses for themselves if it were just more SIMPLE! Fucking tax on this, but not on that, exempt? No, well, maybe? WTF? :P *sigh* waiting, waiting, waiting melly |

He was nice and told me that I need a seller's permit that will cost $20 and I'll be sent a Business Income tax form for filing purposes at the end of the year. The largest balloon I can get is 10 footer. BUT I won't, cause there's no way I'd inflate the darn thing! Post by Sandy_C on Aug 15th, 2006, 12:35pm Mel, I am almost positive that you will be required to charge and collect sales tax from your customers, and then remit the taxes collected to WI on a monthly (maybe quarterly) basis. This means that you will have to apply for a sales tax certificate. Then when you buy your materials, you give the wholesaler your tax number, and they do not charge YOU sales taxes, because you are reselling the material to the end user. Again, I'm not positive, but I collect and remit sales taxes for about 25 states (not WI), and this is how it works with most of them. Just my two cents. Sandy |

They will probably start you off monthly at least for a year, then, depending on the amount of sales you generate, they could switch you to quarterly or even annually. The more you sell, the more often you have to report to the state. Unfortunately, you do not get to pick how often you want to remit sales taxes to the state. They tell you. Sandy |
