Hey all my brothers and sisters - I got my final DHE push at around 2:00 this afternoon, and my lovely bride and handsome son came to pick me up. Since my 6-hour ordeal on Monday, I have been pain free (with a couple of shadows, but they don't even really count).

Once we left the hospital we went down to visit my father-in-law as his health has been on a steady decline for a couple of years. He had been complaining of dizziness, light-headedness, and hasn't eaten much of anything for a couple of days. Well, it was out of one hospital and over to the emergency room at the VA. They're going to admit him, and we've asked for a social worker to intervene as the time has come where he can no longer live alone.

I'm finally home where I belong. Your words of encouragement have given me more strength than you will ever know. I never in my wildest dreams would have thought that I could grow so close to a collection of screen names on the internet. I have met some of you (at MilCon), and I hope to meet the rest of you someday. Most importantly, I love each and every one of you for being there when I needed you most. When my lovely bride brought the printouts of all of your comments, well, to say it made my day is the understatement of the century.

P.S. - Chewy, for now my doc will be upping my verapamil to 720 mg/day, I'll stay on 900 mg/day of lithium, and I have an Rx of Sansert on its way from north of the border. I haven't discussed with him about what he wants me to do with the other two once the Sansert arrives. I've had great success with it in the past.

Yea Bill. Welcome back. Be careful with the Sansert mixing it with DHE. Make sure you are detoxed from the DHE. I would do a liver cleanse next week. I hope you get the same terrific results like I did. A long PF time.  :-*

Welcome back Brew. Glad to hear the DHE has helped. It always helps me too (temporarly).

Some good advice above (rickyshot) ... can't mix sansert w/ DHE. Must have some time in between to get the DHE out of your system. Ask your doc. Can't mix Sansert w/ Imitrex or any other Triptans either.

Goodluck & hope the DHE lasts for a long while.

Thank you all for your prayers and kind wishes. Since I left the hospital on Thursday afternoon, the headaches are not gone, but they are

a) less frequent

b) less intense, and

c) responding to my normal abortive methods (O2 and Maxalt)

Now we have had another pile of stuff heaped on our plate - getting my father-in-law to agree that he can no longer live alone and must enter a nursing home. This one is going to be volumes more difficult as it involves pain of the heart. At least with the headaches there are cut and dried procedures to get rid of the pain. This may involve hurting some less-than-cooperative family members' feelings for a lifetime. Sometimes you're never quite sure which tools to use, and in a crisis every tool becomes a hammer.

At least the head pain will be managable throughout the next couple of days (knock wood).

You all mean more to me that you will ever know. Thanks again for being there.
