Title: Inevitably some Nightmares come true (updated ) Post by Donna_D. on Aug 10th, 2006, 12:45pm I am a wreck. I just got off the phone with my ex mother in law who informed me her son--my psychotic ex and the kids dad, showed up at her house after being gone for over 2 years. The restraining order I had placed against him expired last month....I knew this was inevitable that he would surface again. He was outside the gate (being kept at bay by two large dogs) where the kids were outside playing. He hollered "Hi Kids, Daddy's back!" My ex mother in law looked up, saw it was him and immediately rushed the kids into the house and locked the door. My ex father in law went outside with the shotgun and held him there while mom in law called the police. He is in jail for the moment. The fact that he is back anywhere near me or my children scares the everlovingshit out of me. My mom is on her way to pick me up to go get the kids. I am too much of an emotional wreck to even think about driving. All I want to do is get to my kids and hold them. I feel so helpless. DD |

Title: Re: Inevitably some Nightmares come true Post by nani on Aug 10th, 2006, 12:50pm Get a new restraining order, while he's in jail. If he wants to see the kids, let him get a lawyer and start proceedings... they never do. I'm pretty sure you don't have to let him near them otherwise. Be strong, DD... the CH superhero gang is ready to assemble at your call. hugs and love, nani |

Title: Re: Inevitably some Nightmares come true Post by georgej on Aug 10th, 2006, 12:54pm Sorry to hear about this, Donna. To begin with, try to get another restraining order in place. Shouldn't be difficult to do, since there's history here, and he's shown up again, and was jailed. A restraining order is certainly not a cure-all, but it seems to have helped for the past two years, according to what I'm hearing from you. Next step is to get an attorney and explore your options. If your kids' safety and your safety is at issue, you should have several. Good luck, and my sympathies are with you. No one should have to live in fear. Best wishes, George |

And if he comes back yet again---he'll be in prison extremely fast...Do it right now !!! |

As soon as you pick up your children, have your mother to take you directly to the Court House or where ever you need to go and get the Order of Protection reinstated immediately.. If his own mother called the police on him and his father holds him at bay with a shotgun, I diffently don't want him near you or your children. I'm Praying for you Sweetie... Title: Re: Inevitably some Nightmares come true Post by deltadarlin on Aug 11th, 2006, 5:13pm Donna, You have Jimbo's cell phone number, call him if need be. I'll pm you with mine. I know you're terrified of him, but, you can't let that stop you from doing what you need to do and that is take care of your kids and yourself. He knows that you're terrified of him and he is he will use this to his advantage. I know that you don't want a gun in the house and I'll probably agree with you here. If you've never used one and with two young kids in the house, now is not the time to get one. That being said, I don't have any young kids and between me and Jimbo, we have a nice little cache of weapons and ammo. Please, let either one of us know if there is ANYTHING we can do. The kids and I are safe and with family. Don't want to advertise where...just in case. The ex is in jail at the moment and I have contacted the Denton County Sheriffs Department to let him know that he is in custody(he has warrants in Denton County)...I can only hope that they will extradite him and make him serve out that time as well. As soon as the initial protective order ran out I contacted the District Attorneys office to find out if I could get an extension. At that time they said "No". I placed a call to them today and am waiting on a callback from the attorney who initally handled my case. She knows what a bastard he really is and has his case file to prove it. I am on top of it...trust me. When I posted yesterday I was in a sheer panic...a lot of bad bad memories came flooding back. Fact is, despite it all and how far I have come, that asshat still evokes fear in me. Guess some things take longer to heal than others :-/ . I'm sorry I haven't posted before now. Life has been a whirlwind and honestly I have been trying to avoid a complete and total nervous breakdown. I was not prepared, or at least as prepared as I thought I was for my ex to show up in town. Coupled with quitting my job and worrying about paying my bills and supporting my kids and buying school clothes and so on and so on and so on...CALGON TAKE ME AWAY!! The good news is that I went on the second job interview today. It looks promising. 6k a year more than what I was making and full benefits if I get offered the job. I interviewed with two different people for a total of two hours and they have asked me to send samples of my business writing to them...I take this as a good sign. There is more than one position open and I feel certain that I will be offered a job. Pray for me...I need it. The ex boss finally paid me all the back pay she owes me...I think fear of retribution did the trick ;) So I got the rent paid and made my car payment and have a little left over until the unemployment kicks in to gear. I think I am going to be ok. For anyone who tried to call me on my cell phone you might have figured out that it is not working. That is because it was property of the old company. She had it shut off before I ever even got home after quitting. I am working on getting a new cell number and will know something in a couple of days. For anyone who doesn't have my home number and you need to get in touch with me...email is the best bet right now. I am checking it multiple times daily dd.ouch@gmail.com Thank you all for your unending support and genuine care and concern. I love you all!! I will be checking in as often as possible. DD |

Title: Re: Inevitably some Nightmares come true (updated Post by LeLimey on Aug 12th, 2006, 7:48am DD I know just how you feel, my biggest fear is having my first ex come back. I saw someone who was the spitting image of him not so long ago and I got so scared I ended up being sick. You think you move on, I HAVE moved on - but that fear comes right along with us. The only consolation I have is I know if (When) he did/does turn up he won't know I'm scared because I can be so gobby! We're with you always, you know where we all are. Just keep us updated as you can. lots and lots of love Helen |
