Title: Am I doing the right thing???
Post by sandie99 on Aug 8th, 2006, 6:38am
I need your wisdom right now...

I'm going to introduce my boyfriend to my 4 dear friends this Saturday. I've been waiting for this day to come and so have my friends! They have been asking many times that when they'll meet him... :)

BUT, there is one thing which makes me wonder if I'm doing the right thing or not. You see, one of these women was supposed to get married on the very same day... but they called off the wedding and the relationship is over.

Now, because I've invited my friends over, it means that this friend doesn't need to be alone on this day - I know that it can be devasting. But am I doing, on the same time, disservice to her when I'm introducing my boyfriend to her on this particular day? You know, throwing love at her face when she's mouring the end of hers...

Perhaps I'm thinking about this too much... After all, she could have simply said that she cannot attend my party if she wanted to...  But some advices would be great. I want to make Saturday a great day for us all. :)

Best wishes & PF days to all,
Sanna

I say invite her! She knows why she would be coming so if she wants to stay away its her choice but I think she would be hurt if you didn't give her the choice... I hope you all have a fantastic time and WE WANT PICS!!  :)

Helen,

I've invited her and as far as I know, she's also coming. I did send all my friend confirmation email this morning, so we'll see.

What comes to pics... well, I'm taking my digi with me and I promise to do my best. My friends are bit camera shy, though. Maybe if I'll catch them when they're not expecting it... :D

Sanna, I think its fine because it will a group of you guys. If it were just you, your boyfriend and her it might be a little awkward. Its nice of you to think of that, means your compassionate. Your a good friend.  ;;D Have a great time!

I think you're doing the right thing.  Have a lovely time.  Don't worry about pics.  Your friend may be on an emotional roller coaster (or not) but from what I know of you, you can handle that.

Also, each relationship is different.  I'm happy that you can have people you love meet each other.

Yes, go for it. But try to avoid having everyone getting sloppy drunk and melancholy.... :-X And no toasts like, "To lovers!", Or "Men, you can't live with'm, you can't drag them behind the car with a chain"
(just kidding Sanna)
