Title: Announcing Baby David - Born 08/02/2006 Post by Dissident on Aug 5th, 2006, 3:28pm Just got enough energy to post this after about 4 days with little to no sleep. We arrived at Winnie Palmer Hospital @ 5:00am on 08/02/2006. Leah was induced with Oxytocin (not really "induced" as she was already having contractions that morning) at about 7:00am. After about 16 hours of labor and worry our little man was here. -We couldn't get the babies heart rate up for a few hours and they tried to get us to go c-section. We had them stop the contractions with medication to give David a break then restarted the contractions. Apparently it was enough of a break to get his strength back and his heart rate up. David Bradley Stroupe was born on 08/02/2006 at 11:02pm est. He weighed in at 7 pounds 11 ounces, was 19.5 inches long and is very healthy (has all his fingers and toes and stuff :). We're finally home and settled in with baby and doing great. Leah is recovering well and ready to do it all over again (Kidding about that last part). It was the most amazing experience of my life and I'll never forget it! Well, just wanted to fill you guys in. P.S. Sorry bout the scrolling page and so many pics. We are settled (kinda) into our little routine. So far David is healthy and happy. Our Routine: We change his diaper, swaddle him, feed him, burp him and jam out to skynard or Flaw or something until he goes to sleep...he wakes up about an hour later and we do it all over again......Feels like I'm in that movie Groundhog Day but I love every single second of it. I just got him to sleep about 20 minutes ago (2:00am) and I'm sitting here wishing he would wake up so I can do our little thing again. You guys were right...my world completely changed in one day. Leah is doing great and we're making a pretty good tag team IMO. And don't even talk to me about breast pumping...that sh*t is just funny looking. Anyway....tired and just wanted to thank you guys for the kind words before I hit the sack....
