What are you people doing this weekend?
I think I'm heading to the coast, maybe go to San Francisco for a day.

Headed down to the South Fork of the Blankety-Blank-Blank River with El to do some fishing.  Water in the canyon is finally down, and the hatches are on--most likely the PMD's and the Pink Alberts.  I'm sure there'll be some caddis hatches as well.

If that doesn't work, I'll hit the road and head towards Sun Valley to fish the (Mumble-mumble-mumble) River.

Best,

George

Linda and I are going to a local lack to the christening party of some friends new party barge.

They got a big enough motor on it so that when I get hit we can just tie a ski rope to my ankle and bounce me around the lake until i stop Screaming 8)

So if you hear any news of my murder you will know it is BS. I was just trying a new treatment ;;D

Be safe everyone.......Tim

Golf Saturday - Golf Sunday - Golf Monday!  Lord, what a boring life I lead! ;;D

Somewhere between rounds of golf I expect I will have to do something constructive - like laundry, vacuuming, shopping and all that good stuff.

This is a long weekend for us in Ontario so it's 3 days away from work.

Hope y'all have a great weekend doing something that's pleasing for you and yours.

Actually, this dovetails nicely with Helen's thread on the med board about liquid oxygen.  It is possible to start a barbecue grill with liquid oxygen in three seconds.

For example:

http://www.ambrosiasw.com/Ambrosia_Times/September_95/2.5HowTo.html

I must stress that liquid oxygen is AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SUBSTANCE.  DON'T TRY THIS AT HOME!

That said, enjoy.  LOL

Kerboom.

George

I would modify that by saying that LOX is not in and of itself dangerous. It just makes anything it comes in contact with that's flammable EXTREMELY DANGEROUS!

(Oxygen itself is not flammable - it is the catalyst in combustion, not the fuel. Since it exists in nature at a concentration of about 20%, when you add it to something that's burning, it increases the combustion rate five-fold). This is what happened on the launch pad of Apollo I during the test that killed Grissom, Chaffee and White - They were sitting inside a pressurized capsule containing 100% O2. When the spark happened that caused the upholstery to catch fire, it burned up so fast that they never had a chance.

It still looks like barbequing with it would be a lot of fun!

So it's going to take an hour & a half to drive to Sacramento.  This deal is supposed to be an interactive mystery theater dinner.

I'm going to stop at a grocery store & pick up some baby wipes so when I start sweating, I can stay at the theater & just wipe my face down.  It may be embarrassing, but otherwise I'll miss part of the story.

Also going to stash a 4 pack of red bull in my shoulder bag.

Have a good weekend, everybody.

I had a simple family weekend.

On Friday, I met my boyfriend's big brother for the first time. We watched a movie together and talked.

On Saturday, I took a bus to meet mum and we drove to her childhood home and I got to meet 3 uncles and one aunt. It was important visit. All my uncles' health has been better... 2 of them will go to surgery some time very soon, one of them knows that if the surgery fails, he'll be paralyzed... it was good to see him now.

I also picked lots of berries, black currant and red currant and some rhubarb, which my uncle said that they won't need. I ate smoked fish (one of my uncles' is a true fisherman and a champion at smoking the fish to perfection) and fresh bread (made by other uncle, who is 72).

There's always lots of birds, but 26 ducks was a record! It was odd to swim with them, but hey, that doesn't happen every day. The water was warm and the sun has been shining the whole weekend. :)

Best wishes,
Sanna

Sanna, good luck to your uncles.

My weekend went very well.  The mystery theater was a little loud but no one  noticed my sweating or squirming because they were all busy, so no embarassment.

Today, we went to one of those old timey photo spots.  My 8 girl buddies dressed as ladies of the evening & I was dressed like Annie Oakley, the body guard.  The picture is great & if I can figure out how to scan it & post it, I will do that later.  I'll be the only one with white hair, and no cleavage showing.

I then decided to swing down to Santa Cruz and hit the beach and stayed at a crappy motel where the roaches were so big I was actually knocked down by one while the other took my wallet. Anyway, I am now so friggin burned it hurts to smile. ;;D

I got trashed Friday night, and just a the peak of the buzz, I got a call from the Enterprise help desk. Yes, I was on call and got caught riding bare back. Managed to get through the hour and a half long call that included my bosses boss without making an ass of myself. System was brought up, I did another shot of Jim Beam with my buddy to celebrate. Life is good. ;;D
