Title: Images and Words Post by superhawk2300 on Aug 2nd, 2006, 6:22pm I've been digging through my writtings for the thread about the CH book being made, and I thought I'd share this with the group. It is my true story about the birth of my first child Taylor Reason and my life before that moment. When I was younger man, I used to wake in the night. I would lie in bed and stare at the ceiling, not being able to fall back asleep. It was as if something very faint was calling to me. My ears did not experience this sound, but somewhere in the back of my mind it was there. Though barely existing, in the quiet stillness of the night, the sound was impossible to ignore. So I would go outside and longingly stare into the stars. I was looking for something, but for what I did not know. Bathed in beautiful starlight I would just stand there, scanning the night sky for hours. I would search, and search, and search for the something that was calling to me. Every night that I wandered outside to search the universe I felt a strong yearning. This empty-aching in my heart drove me on, night after night. I must have picked my way through trillions of twinkling stars, for what seemed like millions of lonely nights. But sadly I was never able to find what was calling to me, out there, in the stars. After many years of sleepless nights the sound became easier to ignore, until one night I quit searching for it altogether… If only I had known it was you, I would have never stopped. |

Title: Re: Images and Words Post by Mosaicwench on Aug 2nd, 2006, 8:31pm Quite lovely - speaks of an emptiness of heart that wasn't readily apparent before it was filled. Something most all caring parents are familiar with. Nicely written. |

Very cool man! I swear, the second my boy was born I felt like someone put a needle in my ass and injected a dose of estrogen! I'm the newest member of the softie club and there's nothing I can do about it. Just wish this damn estrogen would wear off! |

Title: Re: Images and Words Post by sandie99 on Aug 9th, 2006, 8:39am That was incredible! You must show that to your daughter when she gets older.... Amazing. :) Thank you so much for sharing it with us. When I read your writing, I recalled an old photograph, which was taken in June 15, 1980. The day of my christening. My dad helled me in his arms all through the ceremony. I recalled the look on his face... Ok, now I'm gonna cry. Best wishes, Sanna |
