Title: Has anyone flown with Frontier? Post by Melissa on Aug 2nd, 2006, 2:26pm Ever since we experienced awful turbulence on one of the smaller charters between Madison and Chicago, I've resolved to only fly on the big jets. At the end of October we are going back to San Diego for the 3rd time to see Jesse's brother graduate from MCRD. Now I've already booked the trip, the airfare + hotel (there are some awesome deals right now through Travelocity), but have never flown with Frontier before. Are their Airbus 319's fairly roomy and is the service at least halfway decent?? |

Title: Re: Has anyone flown with Frontier? Post by fubar on Aug 2nd, 2006, 2:31pm I just spit my coffee all over the screen. There's a reason they call it 'frontier'. People aren't supposed to expect creature comforts on the frontier. It's all about the journey. ;;D -Fu |

Title: Re: Has anyone flown with Frontier? Post by BMoneeTheMoneeMan on Aug 2nd, 2006, 2:36pm They are fine a airline. These days its all about pretzels, or if you are lucky, you get a snack mix with 2 peanuts thrown in. The A319 is similar to the Boeing 737. It is a small jet. I like the Airbus jets. Have fun. B$ |

Title: Re: Has anyone flown with Frontier? Post by Karla on Aug 2nd, 2006, 4:00pm Going to a MCRD graduation in San Diego how exciting!! Your beating me there by a year. My son Chris goes next June into bootcamp at MCRD in San Diego. We are going to the "family day" as well as graduation day. That is were my husband went through boot camp so Chris wanted to go were his Dad did. He is so motivated. He is with his rucruiter today learning how to shoot M16's and newer rifles that haven't even been issued yet. I was only 18 and had no money to fly to Ted's graduation. All the money we had was all going towards our wedding while he was home on leave. My husband is determined to be there to support our son. Plus it would be nice to go back 20 years latter and see how things have changed in San Diego and Camp Pendleton. Have a nice flight and stay! |

Title: Re: Has anyone flown with Frontier? Post by tanner on Aug 2nd, 2006, 4:13pm Melissa , don't let em pull your leg or make you anxious. Frontier is as good as any of the other discounters out there and the discount airlines have as good or a better safety record than the big boys. The only thing wrong with Frontier is they and many others bought airbusses which are made by the french for gods sake. The Boeing 737 which is made right here in the good old USA has an outstanding safety record and I would have much rather seen them buy more of the new version of that plane! But bidness is bidness so sit back, relax, and bring your own food ;) ....frog legs are good cold but I doubt anyone would get the irony.....Tim |

Title: Re: Has anyone flown with Frontier? Post by fubar on Aug 2nd, 2006, 7:16pm Mel, I've been on Frontier enough to say... they ain't all bad. I've 'ad worse. I flew 3 million (no joke) miles with Delta, and that is probably like doing 10-15 at San Quenton Maximum Security. Frontier is more like county lockup. My favorite airlines don't do domestic flights (Virgin Atlantic, Malaysia Airlines, Singapore Airlines, Quantas... in that order). I'd fly Frontier again if I had to. Domestically speaking, I prefer Jet Blue for economy, but it's nice to be treated like a big wig on Delta. BTW, I've given away almost all of the millions of miles I earned, even to some convention bound folks here. Have fun and DON'T PANIC. |

Title: Re: Has anyone flown with Frontier? Post by floridian on Aug 2nd, 2006, 7:22pm I flew on Frontier in 1966, from St. Louis to Denver. Still remember their jingos ... Denver is a Frontier Town! Didn't know they were still around. |

Title: Re: Has anyone flown with Frontier? Post by Kevin_M on Aug 2nd, 2006, 8:00pm The airline I work for just bought 25 new ones and replaced older jets. Excellent fuel economy for a passenger jet and much quieter. Airlines can configure them different ways, but they are three seats on each side, with or without business class. Ours have 138 all leather seats, 24 rows of coach, 2 rows in business class with 8 larger seats there and more legroom and only 2 on each side of the aisle. Good feedback on them and they are a great multi-purpose jet, we use them on a lot of routes now. Frontier has been in business a long while and I'd fly them anyday. Hope it goes good Melly. :) |

Title: Re: Has anyone flown with Frontier? Post by Melissa on Aug 3rd, 2006, 12:08am Ok, I've sorta glazed over everyones responses because I'm READY TO FUCKING SCREAM!!!!!!!!! >:( AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! Ok, I fucked up, and I fucked up bigtime. :-[ We didn't find out until tonight that the fucking DATES are different than what we knew. SO, this is a NON refundable package and after a whole SHIT load of phone time, $450 and a lotta crap straightened out, I am now leaving Oct. 26-28 instead of the 27th-29th. FUCK! Thank God Jesse is sleeping right now because I'm pretty sure he's gonna blow a nut over this one. I haven't made such a big mistake like this in YEARS! Guess I'm due for some fucking YANG huh??? cripes! p.s. thanks guys for the teasing and the support... I really mean that! |

Title: Re: Has anyone flown with Frontier? Post by Melissa on Aug 3rd, 2006, 10:29am LOL, it's ok Jim, that's very sweet, but it's ok. ;) I did wake up Jesse last night and tell him, he was mad I woke him up and sorta grunted, rolled over and went back to sleep. This morning before he went to work, he woke me and asked me exactly how much and what changed. As usual, no yelling, no bitching, all he could say is "there's nothing that can be done about it, so what's the point of getting angry?". That is very typical of how my husband is... but because I was such a screw up in my former life (before I was married), I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop. :-/ I think I'd feel SOOO much better if he would just rip into me sometimes! *sigh* melly |
