Title: "PI" Movie About A Cluster Sufferer Post by Dissident on Aug 1st, 2006, 12:54am Some of you already know about this movie but I'm gonna post this anyway. The name of this movie is "PI". http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h163/repairpc/pi-film.jpg The film is about a mathematical prodigy that sufferers from severe -SO CALLED- Migraine headaches. The person portrayed in this movie obviously does not suffer from Migraines. I've added some of what they had to say on the official website... A gifted young actress who consulted with us on the film's depiction of migraine, had a long period during which she would be awakened every morning at exactly 4:07 to a pain like "a hot drill entering her right temple." The pain increased from there. When the episodes passed, she often experienced a sense of euphoria, a high which might last all day. Every night, she was afraid to go back to sleep. The next morning the pain would wake her again. All attempts to treat her were fruitless. Allergy tests, a range of pharmaceuticals, opiates, therapy, and clinics around the world all failed to reduce the frequency or intensity of her episodes for more than a few weeks. Does this sound familiar guys? Doesn't sound like any Migraine I've ever heard of. I think this actress may have been misdiagnosed...I'm almost sure of it. I've clipped some footage from the movie and uploaded for you guys to view. Tell me what you think...Migraine or Cluster? I say DEFINITE Clusters!!! Please...check out the clips. It's almost like watching the Chuck video. Clip#1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UlcjHDDG8dE Clip#2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z2amowkPRzg Clip#3 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4_XF2qOSMlg BJ |

Title: Re: "PI" Movie About A Cluster Sufferer Post by georgej on Aug 1st, 2006, 2:47am I remember thinking the same thing when I saw the movie. "This isn't a migraine." Particularly when he got out the drill in an attempt to "cure" himself. Not to mention the whole feel of it--the sense of a pain that's off the scale. Best, George |

Title: Re: "PI" Movie About A Cluster Sufferer Post by floridian on Aug 1st, 2006, 8:01am I think Pi is about a fictional type of headache, the kind that comes when a person tries to take over God's job. ... 144233377 ... Sounds like clusters. The movie was shot on a $60,000 budget! |

Title: Re: "PI" Movie About A Cluster Sufferer Post by Charlotte on Aug 2nd, 2006, 9:48am This is not a film for training one to care for oneself during cluster. This guy looks like a good candidate for clustermask & O2. They caught the hopelessness of it. I would not say migraine. No way this guy could lay down in a dark room. I'm not going to see the movie, so can somebody tell me if the character survives? Charlotte |

Title: Re: "PI" Movie About A Cluster Sufferer Post by Carl_D on Aug 2nd, 2006, 5:35pm I first saw "PI" back in October when I was with a friend at Best Buy and found a copy for 10 bucks. My buddy had some coupons and I wound up getting the dvd for 2 bucks!!! I've watched it several times and was jumping in my seat the first time I watched it. Just his reaction to the attacks tells you it is not a migraine. There are 2 things that Max does to his melon in this movie that I have only thought of doing. I found it funny though when he shaves his head to see if it is visible on the outside (buldges or movements in the vessels under the skin, etc. ) I've turned alot of people on to this movie who just don't understand CH, but they kind of get a clue. The part where he reads off the pharmacy list of stuff he has tried that failed, I recognize almost all of the stuff as being something I tried at one time or another. I give this movie three thumbs up!!! Peace, Carl D |
