Title: My best employee quit today Post by jimmers on Aug 1st, 2006, 12:50am I've known this kid since he was 12 years old, taught him everything he knows about the communication cabling business, he tried but today he figured out he couldn't get my job, so he quit! I say Fuck Him. I'm drunk and I'm going to bed now! Sorry, but I'll fill everyone in later. Why do I get so upset with these things? Jimmers Take someone under your wing, they try to make sure you "Crash and Burn" Wheres the Love Man? ;;D |

Title: Re: My best employee quit today Post by brewcrew on Aug 1st, 2006, 7:23am See, jimmers, his job isn't supposed to be to take yours - it's supposed to be to get YOU promoted. That way there'll be an open slot for him to occupy. And nobody gets pissed. I've told every boss I've had for the last 18 years that I viewed this as my primary purpose - to get him or her promoted. If they don't want it, that's their option. At least I made 'em look good. If you see this guy again, tell him that. It'll change his perspective. Bill |

Title: Re: My best employee quit today Post by cootie on Aug 1st, 2006, 11:20am Hurts don't it.......Brad switched shops years ago cuz his shop since high school wanted to FOLD.....so this new print shop was bigger and bit different and not the FAMILY feelin of the previous. Took some gettin used to. Brad was friends with the boss but one other emplyoee made SURE Brad never got to far in advancement. The guy was also a friend we kinda hung out with at the time (bad bad bad bad).....the guy was startin a band and we'd go watch em practice and help setup equiptment when they got gigs and Brad even sat in a few songs with his harmonica sumtimes. The friend was gettin into sum serious drugs....they all were kinda sorta. But the friend in the band used to talk TERRIBLE about people when they weren't around twisting stories so that no one else ever got CLOSE to the others in the band or group. He told us one really good musician was a undercover cop and a bunch of stuff about the others. We all got along but kept our distance's. Got a few HINTS of what the guy told the others about US tho and that really pissed me off....not one thing was true or even close. Got to wondering about the others. Got to talkin with them one day when the other guy wasn't around and WTF......none of the guys stories were even close to bein true ! He didn't want to loose anyone as his CLOSEST friend by learning to like each other so he kept us apart with bad stories and info. He also told the BOSS stuff so he didn't trust Brad 100 % to ever really advance him much. Brad was onea there best pressman too and took a huge paycut to work there. Luckily the old shop regrouped and called him back as VP. We learned a valuable lesson those few years he was with the other shop and group....I can't beleive anyone could be that devious to lie about themselves (to make themselves look awesome with an awesome interesting background all FAKE) and to lie about each and every new close friend to the others to keep eveyone mistrusting the other never getting close. We had one helll of a big POW WOW tho after this all came to light. No one really gives much of a shit bout the lier dude......he has a new band and drifts in and out but no one askes him to hang out or says much. Just my story on how CRAPPY a person really can be !!! That guy kept a better job position then Brad while at that other shop CUZ OF HIS LIES AND STORIES. Glad to be "out" Pam Sorry for the long post but this really did happen and we are still amazed one guy could do all that !!!! He got away with it for years too till everyone found out and dumped him as a friend.......ended the band and everything........ |
