Title: You know what really sucks?
Post by purpleydog on Jul 30th, 2006, 9:44am
Talking to a friend and fellow CH'er on skype. Live, with the webcams, and they get hit. It comes with hardly any warning. They jump for the Zyprexa (olanzapine) and then hit the O2, hard. Sitting there, rocking, and sucking O2 for the next 15 minutes. Then it's gone. Left feeling wrung out.

Couple hours later... wham, here's the beast again. Again, get the Zyprexa (trex is not an option), and hit the O2 again. Except this time it's not working as well, and they're sucking O2 for almost 40 minutes. Rocking and moaning. Feet are dancing. Then, couple hours later... again. Same dance, a bit shorter this time. Left with a haunted look in their eyes.  They drift off to sleep after having a smoke.

Oh god, this sucks big time. All I can do is watch. There is not a damn thing I can do from here.  :'(

I absolutely HATE this shit. I've been getting slammed myself a lot in the last several days, hard, but I can handle that. What I can't handle is watching my friends getting whacked. Fighting that fucker with all they've got, and being left feeling wrung out, exhausted, trying to get some rest before the next one comes. Listening to the exhaustion in their voice, and if it's anything like me, being left feeling small, tiny, insignificant.

I can't stand to see it, but there is NO WAY I would get up and walk away from it. Not ever. What sucks is not being able to be there. We support each other, there is no one else.

Fucking beast.  >:(

Chris, Seeing people get hit at the convention was a first for me as an observer.  I knew it could happen and it did--twice.
Yep, it sucks in a whole different way than being the one who is hit, but it certainly adds depth to our empathy.  Your friend is lucky to have you.

i found a link of a guy having attack, before i found you lot(i think is name was chuck)
but for the first time,i found some understanding..some insight telling me ..im not frking crazy then i found you lot and feel iam ready to fight this thing,...as i think that i am in remission,it pains me to read the threads,,,the helplessness, you feel is almost certainly shared by most
i hope this next week brings an improvement,to your beast..good luck

I remember sitting with someone for three hours when they visited Dallas last April 2005. Not pretty, but I really could not just walk away. Said person would have done the same for me.

Yorky,

You think the video was awesome -- you should have been in the restaurant when Chuck got hit up close and personal.Us Clusterheads just kept on eating and talking while the other patrons went a little nutz. Well, he was being taken care of and there was nothing us clusterheads could do till it passed.  That was a night no one at the restaurant will forget.

Makes you see what your supporters go thru. Not a pretty sight.

I remember the first time I saw another clusterhead (Kip) get hit - I can still see the look on his face. It was awful not being able to help at all.

And purple - you're right - It sucks!

Hugs BD

I'm sure it was very hard but in a small way relieving for the other party that you didn't leave because they got hit.

I agree with Paul. I think that you helped when you stayed there - emotional support takes many forms.  But I can imagine how hard it was to just look at hit... [smiley=hug.gif]

Chris, I know its hard for you but thanks for being there. I know they appreciate it and so do I. It sucks but I am glad there are angels like you out there. You were the one who showed me how much the people here care, how much you care.
