As many of you read in Pep/Patty's earlier thread about heading to Mexico to see her Uncle/Godfather who was critically ill...well...bad news.

Her Uncle passed away before Patty and Ericka and Patty's mom could make it there to see him.  Needless to say, they are all devastated.

Patty, Ericka and Patty's mom are all traveling tomorrow to Mexico to be with her family.  They may not even make it in time for the funeral.

I would ask that you please say a special prayer for Patty and her family during this sorrowful time and keep her in your thoughts, and hearts.  

We love you, Patty and are here for you...always.

I just got off the phone with Patty.  Ericka and her Mom have already arrived in Mexico and are with family.  Patty had to take a later flight and she is now at the DFW airport on a layover.

She wanted me to let everyone know how much your kind words of support mean to her and that the prayers are well needed and appreciated.

I will post more as I hear from her.

Well...

I am in Puebla, Mexico right now.  The burial was yesterday.  I can´t begin to tell you what a day it was.  

There must have been about 150 people in my family´s home town, which is 3 hours away from Mexico City.  Most of them were my cousins and nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.  That was not even a quarter of my family I am told.  

My uncle Salomon was loved dearly by all of us, he was a joyful and intelligent person, always ready to be hospitable and of help in any way he could.  My first memories of Mexico at four years old, are with him and my aunt Isabella.  They always made it home for me when I visited, and it was always my first and last stop in Mexico City when I arrived and when I departed.

I just barely made it to the burial since my flight was delayed.  It has been a lot of ups and downs since I  came here for a burial but am seeing family after 18 years.  The altitude is difficult too, the air is thin.

I just want to give you my thanks, for all the lovely messages.  I know this is a CH board, and this is not about CH, but my family and I appreciate the condolences from the heart.  

Adios amigos, I am going to visit my aunt, the matriarch of the family.  All my love to you.

I'm so sorry Pepa to hear the news. So sad you didn't make it on time.  Your consolation should be that it was your intention to make it their on time and spend time with him before he passed on.

Make sure you take the time to grieve that you need next to family you love and haven't seen in a while.  Sad this reunion came about from such a sad event, but it must be nice to see family you haven't seen in a long time.  Cherish the moments you do have together.

Give Erica a big hug from me.
