All the oil co's are making a killin', but how much sense does it make when I can drive 15 miles from home and get gas for 25+ cents a gallon cheaper than right at my home. Yeah...oil companies made record profits...but only because the price of a barrel of crude is hovering around 75 bucks a pop. Supply & demand...better margins & higher prices egual higher profits. But most of an oil companies profits go back into research and development while the Feds are taxing me 18.4 cents a gal and my state (Pennsylvania) is taxing me 25.9 cents a gal...for a grand total of 44.3 cents a gallon and it all goes into their coffers, with hardly any work on their part. >:( See where your state stands: http://www.pennsylvaniagasprices.com/tax_info.aspx |
