Sorry, I just have to brag a little. 8) My youngest son, Zack, was at band camp at the University of Arkasas this past week. In the camp, they divide the kids up into various bands based on their level of ability. Not only was Zack first chair basoon (the best basoon player) in the top band - the Symphony Orchestra - where the best players perform. He was also first chair in the Honor Band - the best of the best. Jane and I went to pick him up yesterday and attended his concerts. What great performances.

Okay, I'll stop...for now. ;;D

That boy's got the gift. Congratulate him for me. And don't let him squander it. That's one of the saddest things of all - when talented musicians give it up. He can make money doing something else - just don't stop playing. Music warms the souls of all it touches.

just a thought!
wouldnt it be good if disneyland etc,put on a freebie one day(just for clustys and family)jus t so that our children could meet?....if not anyone fancy blackpool england?

It sounds like the camp was inspiring and encouraging to Zack when years of hard work turn out that way. Good to hear Mike. :)

WOW, that's impressive !!!!!!!!!!!!

Been in band myself, and had all three of my kids participate throughout school. Know the feeling you have, and it brings back great memories.

Job well done to the kid. Tell Zack congratulations !!

AND, remember, that when surveyed, it has been proven that band members are usually in the top percentages of their classes. It takes one smart cookie to keep on top of studies AND stay on task with all that being involved in band takes.
