Title: Reg Migraine threw me for a loop Post by Tiannia on Jul 21st, 2006, 11:11am It has been so long since I had just a regular Migriane that I did not even realize that was what I was happening. Not to make it seem that a Migraine is not bad and hurtful, but it was just odd to have one, without all the other CH crap. It just reminded me of how different a migraine and a CH really are. I mean I took Imitrex and a pain killer and put up black out curtains and slept. Cant do that with a ch. Sleep is not an option. I tried explaining this to my husband and got the "Sure Hunny, ok" but at least I know you all will understand that. PF Blessings -Tia |

Title: Re: Reg Migraine threw me for a loop Post by Sandy_C on Jul 21st, 2006, 12:15pm Understand 100%,. I get both too. CH and Migrane are so completely different I've gotten migranes off and on for the last 30 years. Take the meds, go to dark room, cold compress, lay down, sleep. Classic. One of my long time friends, the matron of honor at my wedding has suffered from horrific migranes just about all her life. Seven years ago, my daughter was getting married, and I was experiencing these "headaches" that were most definitely NOT migranes (at that time, I didn't know it was CH). My friend, at the wedding reception, gave me some pills, to this day I don't know what they were, that I took. The "headache" was still there, but I was pretty well zoned out during the balance of the reception. Just met her, after a seven year interval, Wednesday night for dinner. We discussed our "headaches", and, thanks be, I didn't punch her out! She's been a migrane suffer for so long that she just could not fathom the pain associated with CH. So, rather than get in to the old "my pain is worse than your pain" discussion, I just let it go. There are times when I'll stand and fight, there are times I'll just say, OK, I'm sorry you hurt and forget it. :-/ Sandy |
