Title: Television tonight. Important. Post by Gena on Jul 18th, 2006, 9:08pm If you have the time, you should watch House tonight. It is on FOX. The secondary story has lots to do with what was presented at the OUCH convention this weekend. Thomas in drag, yet again. ;;D |

Title: Re: Television tonight. Important. Post by Melissa on Jul 18th, 2006, 9:29pm Watching it right now (commercial). I've never seen the show before. Interesting how he tried the "Prevents Migraine" drug and then injected some nitro. Interesting so far! |

Title: Re: Television tonight. Important. Post by Melissa on Jul 18th, 2006, 9:59pm Aha!! That was cool! Nicotine acts like an anti-depressant huh? Interesting. Also I found the whole migraine/lsd/anitdepressant thing neat too, as I've read so much about it on the meds section of this site and through CB. Really neat to see it on a TV show! ;;D |

Title: Re: Television tonight. Important. Post by BikerBob on Jul 19th, 2006, 1:33am I saw the show, for the second time. House used SSRI antidepressants to abort a LSD trip? Nonsense. Although SSRI's block the effects of LSA and LSD, and to some extent psilocybin, I don't believe that SSRI's can abort a LSD trip so soon. The SSRI's would take days or weeks to have that effect. The only drug I know of that can abort a LSD trip is Risperidone. Risperidone acts as a 5-HT2A antagonist, and can be used to quickly and effectively block the effects of 5-HT2A agonist drugs such as LSD. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Risperidone BB |

Title: Re: Television tonight. Important. Post by tommyD on Jul 19th, 2006, 6:29am A little dramatic license there, perhaps. I don't remember if he said what kind of anti-depressant it was except that he took a lot of it. After all, he had to get sober quick so he could catch the kid lying (his patients tend to lie a lot) and save him from serotonin syndrome before the last commercial. Also notice that House's pupils did not dilate, even though he was tripping his brains out in the locker room. -tommyD |
