Title: Celebrities with CH?
Post by jenrob2006 on Jul 13th, 2006, 2:18pm
I was just wondering, I dont know why, if anyone has heard of any celebrities who suffer from CH?  There are always celeb spokespepople for certain diseases, like Michael J. Fox for Parkinson's, etc.  I was wondering if there was one, maybe there could be more research done because of their celebrity status and also maybe some more focus and information brought out to those who may be suffering but not yet know it.

Over the years there's been a few movie stars and some athletes. We sent one athlete a t-shirt with a letter asking him to visit CH.com, but never heard back.

Larry King did an interview with "migraine" sufferers one night (celebs). One guy was a CHer (our poll decided), but was lumped into migrainers just the same.

The answer is YES, some celebs are suffering, but NO they're not spokesmen for anything.

Right now we're pulling for Carl D. to top the charts and get well known -- then we'll have a spokesman.

I think many celebs try to hide any disability that they think will harm their chances of work.  Some have come forward like M. Fox but it is usually the real big names.

There are probably a few but given the rarity of CH (1:100,000-250,000?) stastically there would be few.  Who knows perhaps some poor soul will one day be big and speak up.

Of course there are many "stars" with self inflicted disability....Hic...snort. ;;D

Actually, one Finnish actress (soap star) has clusters. But she has not really talked about it in public. One gossip magazine mentioned it once. The short 'news story' had so many things wrong in it that it got my blood pressure up.

I suppose ch is not "media sexy" enough... but, as a young journalist, you can be sure that I will do my best to write about ch whenever I get the chance! And do everything in my power to get the word out in here.

Now, my brothers and sisters in pain, promise, that when you reach that fame, you WILL NOT forget clusterheadaches.com and OUCH! When I will write that bestseller novel (hey a woman can dream, can't she? ;)) you can be sure that I won't forget.

I looked that up, they called it clusters too but I am thinking he just gets really bad migraines.  It just does not sound like cluster headaches....

Don't move, Terrell, don't move. Maybe if you're still, it'll go away.....He had to sleep. It was the only way to relieve the misery. Somehow, he would eventually doze off, the bucket close to his side. Because when he would wake up, sometimes minutes later, sometimes in a few hours, he would throw up. Into the bucket. Every time. Then maybe the discomfort would fade and he could open his eyes for a while. Walk? Nope, not yet. Maybe in a few more hours. And maybe in a couple of days he wouldn't feel as if he was still recovering from a hangover. Of course, when you aren't even 10, you don't understand what a hangover is. Only that you hate how you feel.

That sounds like clasic migraine.  Nausia, aura, light sens.  I could see a Cher having one of those symptoms but all of them aithout wanting to pace or fidgit says migraine.

Absolutely! Better than getting rich... ;;D

But that Rosie O'Donnell thing just cracks me up, thanks guys! [smiley=laugh.gif]

BTW, Desperate Housewife Marcia Cross has migraines. Too bad that it's not ch. Not that I'd wish ch to anyone, but it would never hurt us to have a celeb who is willing to spread the knowledge.
