Title: We had a Tornado in New York City Area Last Evenin
Post by zwibbs/Scott on Jul 13th, 2006, 10:28am
I live 12 miles from Manhattan, 2 miles from the Bronx--so realistically you could say I live 2 miles from New York City....We had brutal weather roar in here @ 5pm aND ONE OF THE THINGS THE WEATHER PRODUCED WAS A TORNADO WITH 140 MPH WINDS !!!It lifted a NY State Trooper vehicle in the air and slammed it back down on the other side of the street. Peppermint will know the area---Tarrytown/Sleepy Hollow---Hawthorne and Northern Greenwich, Connecticut. The damage it caused was quite extensive....The weather is getting to be stranger and stranger each year.

Hey B---Eastchester is on the border of New Rochelle---" Chester Heights " area---Great Bakery there. This was strange because they kept on saying the really bad weather was going to stay west of us in Jersey. Then out of the blue bells started to go off on the cnbc tv station with tornado warnings...

It just caught everyone by surprise. June was cold and miserable---alot of rain. July has been incredibly hot and humid---yesterday had no sun, but the temperatures were near 90 !!! A small cold front coming from the west brought this on...And today is even hotter !!! The weekend is going to be in the mid 90's. I hate the heat !!!

Title: stormy

Storms seem to be alot more intense......temps are more extreme too which adds to it. I am sittin here feeling like I am at Niagra Falls cuz of the sound of our creek that runs along side the house.....it is flooded THAT BAD !!! Got home from town earlier and suma the animals were actin panicy....weather channel did NOT show anything here 'WHAT SO EVER' and I kept checkin local stations and 'nothing said' about any storms. Then it started to thunder pretty serious and the rain was so hard it looked like FOG out the windows !!!! Rain came down so hard it was deafening.....but 'nothing' but some haze on the weather map on tv. A friend emailed me a satillite image of a storm that had just formed and hit us. TALK ABOUT FREAKY !!!! Got hit again later. My cats have been hideing behind the couch most of today and the stupid satalite 'out'.......fun on a Friday nite Pam

Our outside concert we were goin to ride out to with friends was of course CANCEL'D. Stay safe everyone.......mother nature has put on a new face !!!
