Title: Milcon connectivity Post by Kirk on Jul 13th, 2006, 12:33am Right at the moment the wireless connection at the hotel is pretty damn iffy. Most can't even get it in their rooms. Let alone anywhere else on the premises. Bummer YMMV |

Title: Re: Milcon connectivity Post by purpleydog on Jul 13th, 2006, 12:35am I hope they can get it fixed, lot's of people are bringing their laptops. I can just see a bunch of clusterheads at the front desk asking about it. I will be. I use my laptop extensively. |

Title: Re: Milcon connectivity Post by purpleydog on Jul 13th, 2006, 12:52am By the way, wasn't that part of the agreement from the hotel? I mean, they advertise it, right? Can you imagine 50 clusterheads in the business center trying to get access? |

Title: Re: Milcon connectivity Post by Cathi04 on Jul 13th, 2006, 12:57am SOLUTION! Kirk, get your lazy bum outta the chair, go find someone in a suit, tell em ya NEED connectivity, and YOU can get it...... then, do it! I know you can!!!!!!!!! Cathi |

Title: Re: Milcon connectivity Post by purpleydog on Jul 13th, 2006, 1:02am I have a solution, but it's not fit to print. However... Not Kirk's problem, it's the hotel's. Surely they have an experienced IT person to handle this type of situation. Surely they do. |

Title: Re: Milcon connectivity Post by brewcrew on Jul 13th, 2006, 1:03am Is hardwire network cable an option as backup? |
||
Title: Re: Milcon connectivity Post by purpleydog on Jul 13th, 2006, 1:04am From what I understand, only certain rooms are hardwired with dataports. Not ours. |

Title: Re: Milcon connectivity Post by Cathi04 on Jul 13th, 2006, 1:05am Chris.... Whoever they have for an IT person couldnt hold a candle to Kirk!! Yes, he is a guest and should be able to enjoy himself as one......but 50 Chers, trying to get online??? Looks like a job for Superman! Cathi |

Title: Re: Milcon connectivity Post by purpleydog on Jul 13th, 2006, 1:09am Sure, if they want to hire him as an outside contractor, and he agreed to it, why not? He'd have it done in less than 30 minutes, I'm sure. I forget what the pay scale is for that kind of work/ experience. Let's see... 5 nights hotel room reserved? That may just cover it. |

Title: Re: Milcon connectivity Post by Mastifflvr28 on Jul 13th, 2006, 2:16am I called the hotel a few days ago to find out if they had high speed or what and they said they had all wireless. So, then I went and bought a wireless card for my puter, JUST for this weekend!! Plus I love it, but it won't work at my house...so it's pretty much JUST for this weekend. Hopefully they'll fix it :) See ya'll thurs evening :) Mast |

Title: Re: Milcon connectivity Post by Kirk on Jul 13th, 2006, 9:20am What kind of card did you get Mast? Those with PC cards for their laptops will have the least probs with signal quality I suspect. If the hotel does something about the quality of their WLAN today the whole thing will be moot.
