Title: Ice packs for the head or........ Post by E-Double on Jul 9th, 2006, 8:22am Another Fussy night....... Trying to figure how to keep pressure on her belly and body which seems to help with the gas. With a fussy baby like Hannah, she is only really content when in arms against body... I was thinking of warm compress for tummy b/c supposed to help but then a lightbulb appeared in the darkness of my fuzzy noggin.........Lionsound sent me an awesome gelpack for my noggin I remembered that this was heavy and could be warmed. I decided no heat but to try just what you see......... AHHHHHHHHH Steady sleep ;;D http://shim1.shutterfly.com/procgserv/47b6d928b3127cce98548078c10500000018103QasWrlwx0 E 2 |

Title: Re: Ice packs for the head or........ Post by LeLimey on Jul 9th, 2006, 8:28am Don't knock it if it works! Barney was a little bugger, he was only happy when being held too but I found if I swaddled him up tight in a shawl or blankie he was quite content too. Apparently it comforts them as it mimics the enclosed space they just got out of! I'm glad you all got some sleep daddy! |

Title: Re: Ice packs for the head or........ Post by E-Double on Jul 9th, 2006, 8:35am she actually seems to dislike being swaddled...like a little houdini she always got her arms free despite a snug wrap. she likes to vogue in her sleep :) |

Title: Re: Ice packs for the head or........ Post by Mrs Deej on Jul 10th, 2006, 2:20am Don't know if this will work for your little one, but Conner had tummy trouble too. We got some gas drops at Wal-Mart. It comes in a little bottle with a dropper, a couple drops and he seemed to be better. ...just an idea. Also...not to get too personal... :-[...but is she bottle feeding or "mama" feeding. Alot of formulas have alot of iron in them that can be hard on their new tummies. Just my [smiley=twocents.gif] [smiley=hug.gif] |

Title: Re: Ice packs for the head or........ Post by BarbaraD on Jul 10th, 2006, 6:46am When Buddy was a baby and would get restless (or upset tummy), I'd put about a teaspoon of "wine" in his bottle. Worked great. Mama and Dad got some sleep also. Mogan David worked fine. Hugs BD |

Buddy is now 32, lives under an overpass, and drinks a case of Wild Irish a day. He still sleeps great though! 8) |

Title: Re: Ice packs for the head or........ Post by nani on Jul 10th, 2006, 9:35am Eric, try swaddling from the armpits down, and leave her arms out. It gives her the snug feeling she craves, and the freedom to move her arms. nani...who's been swaddling babies since the seventies. |

Title: Re: Ice packs for the head or........ Post by Peppermint on Jul 10th, 2006, 10:00am E, What type of bottle are you using to feed? When I had to switch Ericka to the bottle, she had the same problem. The only bottles that gave her tummy the least amount of gas, were the ones with baggies. You pour the formula or milk into the baggie and no air gets in as she suctions the milk out. Do you know what I'm talking about? P-squared |

Title: Re: Ice packs for the head or........ Post by Charlotte on Jul 10th, 2006, 10:53am If they still make I-soyalac, I had success with that with two of my babies. With the 1st one, decades ago, I let her suck on a peppermint stick and it seemed to help a little. I spent a lot of time walking. She is so cute. Charlotte |
