Hey its Summer , was wondering what you all think about this...My neuro wanted to know if I could possibly have a family member tape me during an attack...he seems to still be learning about this demon we deal with, as he scurrys through his medical books during our visits . I really cant sit still during an attack and probably wanna break to video camera , let me know what you all think , thanks :-*

My first reaction when I read your post was .... get another doc. Why is a knowledgeable neurologist scurrying through medical books during an appointment?!?

What is he/she looking for in a tape?

I think it's a weird thing for a doctor to ask for, what will a grainy video of you in pain tell him? I have no idea. Have you thought about printing info out and giving it to him? That's what I did.

I offered to have one induced with nitroglycerine but my docs felt it was unecessary.

They're also some of the tops in the world.

If it will help him/her recognize and be able to help educate his peers to the severity of this disease then you have done the world a great service :)

Very strange unless he hasn't seen an attack or perhaps wants to verify your diagnosis. Maybe it's the former.

It can be done but it would be easier if another clusterhead did the filming.

Ask him why though.

Get a new doc, one you dont have to jump through hoops for!

Try my Neurologist in Boston. Dr William M Mullally.

Top notch when it comes to CH.

There's already a video out there from Chuck getting hit. Find it (search for chuck video) and bring it in. It's real, and it will give him what he looks for.

I hate having anybody see me while getting hit.

Hi thanks for your input guys, he has never dealt with a patient with CH. That is why , he also put me on these"lollipops" when I am in such a peak to suck on these things like I have the frigin patience for that right? Anyway they are Fentanyl Pops and I dont like them at all I feel strange, bang into walls , and eventually pass out..only ate two but not at once and wont have another one either. All set with those...Anyone ever hear of Fentanyl as an abortive/ pain reliever for CH ?

I'd check into what he plans for distribution. Do you want to be the featured (albeit anonymous) exhibit at some medical convention somewhere? :o

I don't know what I'd do--I've always thought of my hits as being intensely private occurrences. I try to make sure that no one sees them. A personal dignity thing, I guess. My fifteen-year-old daughter has never seen me take a hit.

Just find a CH knowledgable Doc. He wont need movies to help you.

Your first priority is to yourself and getting the proper treatment. Not educating the medical community. That can come later if you choose.

Take care of yourself first, then you can take on the world.
