Title: The UN taking control!!!! Post by BMoneeTheMoneeMan on Jul 5th, 2006, 11:06pm The security council met today to discuss how to handle the N Korean missile thing. They had an emergency meeting and discussed drawing up a resolution to forbid N Korea from testing short or long range missiles. They couldn't come to an agreement on whether to draw up this resolution. WTF?? B$ |

Title: Re: The UN taking control!!!! Post by unsolved1 on Jul 6th, 2006, 12:43am I believe 13 members were possibly for sanctions against the North Koreans, but 2 (Russia & China, both with veto powers) oppose sanctions. The North Koreans have warned us against sanctions being put on them. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060706/ap_on_re_as/un_north_korea UNsolved |

Title: Re: The UN taking control!!!! Post by BarbaraD on Jul 6th, 2006, 6:56am I imagine Japan is a little "antsy" right now. And China and Russia ought to be. We don't even know if our ANTI-missiles will work. As for the UN -- ughhhhhh! Hugs BD |

Title: Re: The UN taking control!!!! Post by JeffB on Jul 6th, 2006, 10:56am I think it's still early for UN action. The Japanese have drawn something up and experts will go through the wording. So far Russia and China haven't said much either way. I bet Bush will let the world take more of a part since we blew them off over Iraq. |

Title: Re: The UN taking control!!!! Post by Tiannia on Jul 6th, 2006, 1:48pm According to the reports that I saw, we where not sure if our anti aircraft missels could take it out after it launched, and if they wait until they launch then Korea will get th einfo that they need on the test. But if we take it out on the launch pad before it launches then we are in violation. It seems like a catch 22. I dont want to think about a cold war with Korea. That will be a very long one. |

Title: Re: The UN taking control!!!! Post by JeffB on Jul 6th, 2006, 3:34pm I think we could hit another missile, I saw a launch while diving near Santa Barbra,Ca. We watched it (explode?) in the atmospere, we think it hit something. Cool blues and greens in the sky that night. |

Title: Re: The UN taking control!!!! Post by sailpappy on Jul 7th, 2006, 1:41am ;;DI think we should drop millions of care packages all over the country, include a large portion of foodstuff, a copy of Rolling Stone Magazine, a National Geographics and High Times, Give the people a day or two to find out that they have been "Missled" about the rest of the free world, then take out all known Missle sites? Unlike the Cheerleaders that were put in Prison for telling of the Grand Free world, you cant incarcerate the the entire populace when they read of the true splendor of Freedom! Who knows, with enough food a resistance just might get started, especially if they read an article about "Lil Kim" and his movie collection! It just might be more humane and cheaper than Nuking them! IMHO Pappy |
