There was dead silence for 15 seconds.....then the guy said " oh is he staying with Elvis ?" Of course I am quicker than any other New York Wise ass so I told the young man that if I wanted comedy I would have called Dial-a-joke. ( I got this quick humor from the Sacramento bunch. |

That guy was constantly playing 2- and 3-note chords on the bass (pretty unheard of for his time) to give the power trio a big, full sound - a great big foundation on which Hendrix's solo work flourished. |
