When Jimi and Ruth were in New York City a month ago I called the hotel and asked to speak to Jimi Hendrix. There was dead silence for 15 seconds.....then the guy said " oh is he staying with Elvis ?" Of course I am quicker than any other New York Wise ass so I told the young man that if I wanted comedy I would have called Dial-a-joke. ( I got this quick humor from the Sacramento bunch.

Mitch Mitchell was the drummer with The Experience. Thanks for the link Jonny. I didn't know his younger brother was doing that. They sound pretty good.

Jimi spoke to his brother about 5 years ago and told him to "play". Leon really got the short end when it comes to the estate.

And his bass player, Noel Redding, was pretty incredible in his own right. That guy was constantly playing 2- and 3-note chords on the bass (pretty unheard of for his time) to give the power trio a big, full sound - a great big foundation on which Hendrix's solo work flourished.
