Title: Remember when Mom said....
Post by Tiannia on Jun 27th, 2006, 3:29pm
ok guys. Had a thought and wanted to see what you all can think of.

What was somethign that your mom told you as a kids. That you now know to be total crap.

Example.
When I was in the 5th grade, my mom told me not to hold hands with boys because you could get pregnant.

My mom used to pay me $0.25 to be quiet for 5 minutes on car trips.

My mom died this year so it wouldn't be fair for me to pick on her too much.

I can't see anything but total truth in this. Girls' hands are really soft and stuff.  ;;D

That if you play with yourself, all your hair will fall out...wait....that isn't a good example.

That once a year, rabbits quit having babies and start laying eggs and then bring them into the house and give them to you. There that's better. ;;D

That there was a Santa Claus

There was an Easter Bunny

There was a Tooth Fairie

Other than that, she was as honest as the day is long.  Boy I miss her.

Excuse me, Virginia, but there IS a Santa Claus.

Now, the Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy - that's crap.  ;;D

That's right.  Santa drove by and winked at me on my way to work, last summer, during the off season.

Said to me when I was 15or16...
"Don't ever try to pull one over on me!  I was a very bad teenager so I know all the tricks!"

Me to my mom when I was in my 20's....
"Hey mom I snuck out, and I went to parties, and you never had a clue!"  Mom started laughing, "I don't wanna know!" she says.

HAH!

My mom once found my pot pipe and instead of getting rid of it away she hid it, what she did not know is that my brother and sister and myself knew that she had hid it in and antique hand crank phone hanging above the fireplace, so any time we needed it we would just get it and when we where done put it back. It was a lot easier then trying to hide it from her. I told her a few years back and she was pissed, way to funny. [smiley=laugh.gif]

Another time I barrowed the car and told her I was going to the drive in, well I went out partying with friend. We where driving around and I backed into a truck and bent the bumper pretty good, I told her that someone backed into it when we were at the store getting munchies. She did not believe it for a second and as I was standing there trying to think of a better lie she looked at me and said “come on what really happened, did you back into a speaker pole at the drive in?”  I looked at her and said yes mom I am really sorry. When I told her the truth several years ago she could not believe it and I said well you came up with a better lie then I did so I just went along. [smiley=laugh.gif]

Mom told me never to lie to her because she could always tell I was lying by looking in my eyes.  Right! ;;D Sure Mom.  Oh, my teen years were something to behold!

My Dad, on the other hand, got smart and suspected every word out of my mouth - darn it!  Missed out on some great parties because of that.   >:(

Naturally, I always talked to Mom about where I was going.  I remember on my 18th birthday, I told my Mom that my boyfriend was taking me to dinner and a movie to celebrate.  We went bar hopping and I got so wasted that when I walked in the door that night, Mom and Dad were waiting for me, and watched me as I bounced from one wall into the other staggering down the hallway to make it to the bathroom. (By the way, back in those days, you could legally drink 3.2 beer at age 18 in Ohio)
