WooHooo...finally a show that gives a brief insite as to what it is like to work under a strict Chef.  They got rid of the lame douche Tom and the women are going to self destruct.  Awesome TV! 8)

Chefs are very tough, but the Hell's Kitchen Chef is a bit ridiculous. My son graduated from The Culinary Institute of America in May and he works for a brutal Chef right now. He knows enough to ignore any rants and raves that the head chef goes through. A great movie to rent is " Dinner Rush." It was a movie with some big names but never made it to the top. It's an independent film. It covers exactly what goes on in a restaurant kitchen.

I somehow got addicted to it too.  I didn't mean to, but my boyfriend got me addicted.  That guy is a jerk.  But thank goodness he got rid of Tom.  I think Heather may win, but what was up with Sara lying?  That pissed me off!!!
And by "that guy," I don't mean my boyfriend ;)

I think 'reality tv' proves that people LOVE to see other people degraded bit by bit in public........it's the new faze in tv prime time and suppose it helps sum get over deep hidden frustrations. You kill me Pam

How bout a "You Spank Me" series.....jus jokein jus jokein !!!!!!!  ;;D

I've watched the show, not the new season, but the one they had last season.  I've never worked in the food industry (other than a hot dog stand) , so I don't know what it's really like in a working restaurant kitchen.  But. there is NO WAY I would take the crap that this chef dishes out! Nobody speaks to me like that - nobody!  If my employer, or even my potential employer, treated me like that, for any reason whatsoever, his balls would be in my next meatball stew!   :o

::)  And that's why not many people work in High End kitchens.  If you can't take it and know that it isn't personal, it is business, then you leave.  Look at it like this, it is his name on the restaurant.  How would you treat someone who wasn't doing work up to your expectations with your name on the restaurant?  Until you work the 'line, you can't understand.  Additionally, since Ramsey played rugby professionally for 12 years.... :-/

I worked for this foreign kitchen manager back in *covers mouth mumbling* 1983 that had an issue with women.  I was on my way to pick up and order and he pointed to the floor at a spoon and asked me "what is this?" I told him a spoon and went and picked up a fork and asked him what IT was....lol.  He loved me....NOT!

They (chefs and the like) really don't need to be pompous a$$es)

When people are paying $125+ per person for a meal, they expect perfection.  As the chef, I would expect it from my staff, and have had it expected from me.  I don't scream in my kitchen, but my staff know that if they fawk up, they are gone, period.  I don't care who you are or what you bring to the table, I'll find someone to do it right or I will do it myself.  Don't know about where you live, but around here, you pull a stunt like the fork thing, and you will be out the door and there will be a line of 20 people to take your spot.  Guess it all goes into what you expect out of your staff and what you are willing to tolerate.  Since it is my name that is being presented, I don't tolerate much.  YMMV
