Haha.... Thanks.... I just returned from Vortex Spring, in Ponce De Leon, Florida last night, from getting my Nitrox certification, and also got a taste of cave diving. The cave started out at 45', and ended at a door (the key to which, was available from the dive shop, if you showed them your cave certification card), at 109' down. Total blackness, utter silence, except for the bubbling of my regulator... 109' underwater, with tons of rock overhead... Definitely not for the claustrophic or faint of heart. ;)

I can't wait to go back.

I'm at 35 dives now, and the only rain we got, (Helen!) was on the drive home. LOL

Thanks, Steve!  [smiley=thumb.gif]

You went diving and didn't trigger any hurricanes?

Wow!!!!  ;;D

Yeah... Pretty amazing, huh? LOL!

My instructor went on a trip to Key Largo, a few weeks ago, and a hurricane came ashore. Finally, he's convinced that it's HIM and NOT me!  [smiley=laugh.gif]

What's the best place to dive, Frank?

NICE!

I'm at about 50 dives....need to check my dive logs.
For some great dives one MUST dive Roatan or the other Bay Islands. Great shark dives with Carribean Reef sharks too!
Cozumel has some really cool cave dives also!
Can't wait to hunt bugs down at the Channel Islands.

Any other divers here??

Aw... It's ALL good, but so far, diving the Spiegel-Grove in Key Largo, and all different reefs in Cozumel, have been the highlights. :)

Congrats, Jeff! :) I've heard lots of good stuff about Roatan, and yeah, I'd like to do the Cenotes in Cozumel, too. :)

Howdy, Ree! Hey, if it weren't dangerous, it wouldn't be any fun! ;)  [smiley=laugh.gif]

Seriously, though: I'm very careful and disciplined about what I do and how I do it. :)

Now with this new certification, it's one more step along the way to Dive Master. :)

Hey Frank. Didn't know you were posting again. How are ya doing? Do those dives with the pressure changes affect CH? Just wondering since barometric pressure defininitely affects my head.

I've never been hit while on a dive vacation,
Good luck on your Dive Master cert Frank and your Nitrox.

I wish everyone here could experience the world from 100' below, or even a shallow drift dive along a reef teaming with life.
I'd like to dive in the keys next, we may be going to Vietnam next year, I here it's super bitchin!

Anyone been to Palau?

Thanks, Ricky. I don't think I'll become an active poster here, again. I'm doing good. Just livin' my life, and doing it without the drama, backstabbing, gossip, and the usual crap that never ends, here. :) The kudzu works well for me when I'm in cycle. When I'm not here, I don't fixate on CH. It's all good.

I've never been diving while in cycle. It would be interesting to do a dive on Nitrox while in-cycle, though. Partial pressure oxygen....

Thanks for the well wishes, Jeff. I've got my Nitrox cert out of the way now, and next will probably be a Rescue or Safety Diver course, depending on what my instructor offers.

Keep the good and disregard the rest. Wish I could do more but limited right now. Try to drop by at least some so we can pick at ya ok. The CHenz need some focus here. I am not here enough to draw fire so we (they) need someone to pech at when I am not avail! [smiley=laugh.gif] [smiley=laugh.gif] [smiley=laugh.gif] [smiley=laugh.gif]

The Red Sea is the best diving by far.  Seychelle's are pretty awesome too.

Frank, my husband is a dive master.....he said the rescue dive class is pretty tough.

The Red Sea is a great dive from what I hear, the Seychelle's is really nice, had a chance to stop there when I was stationed on Diego Garcia in the I.O.
But I think I'll stick with the South Pacific.

Very cool. Thanks, Tracey. I'm up to the challenge. :) And if I find that I'm not, then I'll keep at it until I succeed.

I learned how to dive in 1983 so I am a long timer but since getting married I have not dove in the last four years, the wife is claustrophobic so no chance of getting her to pick it up.
I have to say that Cozumel is one of the best by far, I have done like ten trips there over the years and have loved every one of them. Did a cave dive called the devils throat one year, it starts at about 90’ and comes out at 135’ very cool.
Friends went down after the last hurricane hit them and this is what the dive shop we always dove out of looked like.
That used to be a beach and behind them was the wet room and the store and there is no wet room and only a wall left of the store. I heard they have rebuilt but what a bummer.

I was there for Wilma. I have a ton of photos... Complete devastation... Except for the southwestern shoreline, the piers for the cruise ships, and the broken and smashed trees littering the jungle, you can't tell that anything happened. The island has made a roaring come-back. The reefs are still all covered with sand, but they are recovering.

Devil's Throat ROCKS!!!! GREAT dive!!
