For the frst time in 20 years my friend Lisa and I are going to see UB40 live and I can't wait!
We're off to an open air concert in Sherwood Forest and I'm so excited, I've been waiting for this for months and its finally here and I can't wait - I feel like a kid at Christmas!

Oh My God I can hardly walk today!
I was up dancing all night long, they were incredible - just as good as ever and it was an amazing night.
We were all in a clearing in the middle of Sherwood Forest, surrounded by trees and it was a lovely warm balmy night. The crowd was all out for a good time, we were all singing along and we got much much more than our money's worth.
Almost all my favourites were played, Rat in Mi Kitchen was the first song so Ting Tong you owe me a tenner ;;D The crowd went wild when Red, Red Wine came on - my all time favourite (remind me to tell THAT story sometime!) Sing our own Song was another one that got a massive response, Richerooni, they DID sing Please don't make me cry - I love that one too and it IS apt..
I've taken loads of pictures so as soon as I get my aching bones into gear I shall be posting them! (or a link at any rate!)

I don't know, I know I've heard the original but that wasn't "Reggae", I much prefer the UB40 version and especially the extended version of it! (WHICH incidentally was what they sang last night AND I'm a saddo who knew all the words to sing along!)

Did you know that UB40 were all unemployed and when they formed a band and were looking for a name they took the name of the form which is used for unemployed people to claim benefit. - (UB40 - unemployment benefit 40)

Still can't believe that they didn't even play 'I am a 1 in 10'. That's decreasing unemployment in the UK for you. I suppose 'I am a 1 in 26 hasn't got the same ring to it ::)
