Title: one very sad family
Post by minnie on Jun 21st, 2006, 10:52pm
two weeks ago our cat Peppermint had two beautiful kittens.Today one died :'(    .I know these things happen and I told the girls we were goonafind homes for the babies but  :'(  .I kept telling myself don't get attached I am gonna take a zanax and cry myself to sleep......
 Rainbow Bridge...
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

That is SO SAD......when I raised siamese I lost an entire litter one time and they were about 4 weeks old.....I had them sold too ahead of time and was shocked cuz they seem'd fine !!!! (nothing contagious and not a disease) I was so upset about it and never got over it........they just stopped growiing and there motabolism's demand so much from there little bodies at that age and growth spurts. I've lost a few outside kittens too but they are always so wild I can't catch them to treat them or catch them. It's always hard to loose a baby Pam

Aww I' m so sorry.  Awhile back our cat had kittens, we were planning on giving them away too, but when there were losses it was so very sad.  I think I was more upset than the kids were.  Almost a month after the losses is when my kids got upset.  I just told them they got to play with angel grammie in heaven, and they were all very happy and having a lot of fun together, and of course they were very well taken care of.
It definately is harder than you expect when it happens.
Big Hugs for you and the girls!

That kitten may have had a short life, but it was a good one in your hands, minnie. And all pets go to heaven.  :)

Thank you for the replies it is really hard but I know the kittens is  in heaven with the angels. The girls are at Billys for the weekend.yesterday was such a mix of emotions the girls last day of school.Aprils going in 4th and Beths going in 3rd.
I knew something was wrong and called the vet she said it sounded like wasted kitten syndrome and she wouldn't be with us long.At least she said there was nothing we could do and didn't string us along for the money (ain't got none).I told the girls and we sang to it ,held it and told the kitten how much she was loved.I told the girls that our kitten was loved more in the two weeks of being in our family then most cats are their entire long lives. We went to walmart and the kitten had passed away.I have to bury it today and will make a marker for it so the girls can see where its body is.We already know its spirit is in heaven.I also told them thats how mother nature works so they don't blame God.The girls are certain that their uncle, cousin and great Grandpa are the Angels that came to show the kitten the way to heaven so she's in good hands.
Your right Tarann the girls were upset and cried some but before they came in (they went swimming at a neighbors) I cried and cried holding the kitten. Let the girls sleep in my bed it was just a long day.thanks for the replies they help alot.ILove this family.   :-*
