I just finished building this, unfortunately it is for my boss and not me.
You are seeing correctly, it is water cooled, I never thought I would build a water cooled PC or even see one.
It has a reservoir in one of the drive bays, a pump sitting in the bottom of the PC and a radiator with a fan on the back.
There is a large copper plate on the CPU that the coolant goes through to cool the CPU.
This is like the ultimate gaming PC and the man does not play games and is just going to use it for work, he just likes getting the coolest stuff.

Are the words ultimate yours or his?

Don't take offense but my idea of an ultimate box would have on-board nothing, Real dual processors, with separate memory and a RAID5 with 10K SATA drives. But that is just my ultimate box.

My current box is a 800Mhz PIII with 7200 EIDE drives so I can't really talk I guess ;;D

Opus.
No see through side panel, not his stile but it does have a Raid set of 10k SATA drives with a separate new Raptor SATA drive for the boot drive and 2 GB ram in it, 256 GForce 6800 XTreme video card (he does not play games).
2 DVD RW drives, 550 Watt power supply and duel flat screens so it is one nice system no matter how you look at it. It is not missing very many whistles or bells that is for sure and I sure wish it was my home system. Even a Linux guy should appreciate this system.

Been dreaming of one of those for the home machine - even after switching out some fans, it is too loud to leave on overnight.

Love the water cooling. Was looking to switch my box over to it, but haven't had the time. Currently running AMD3200 Clocked at 2.7Ghz, ATI X800 256MB, 1.5Ghz PC133Corsair RAM and 1Tb storage. I know that it would greatly benefit from water cooling, since I am running 6 server fans in the case and 2-120mm fans on the proc.

One of two things... He used some of that non-conductive coolant, and the worse that'll happen is a mess, and hopefully the system shuts itself down to protect the CPU. Or... He used straight water, and he'll be lucky if anything is salvageable after the fireworks.

It was actually not that hard to fit it all in, as you can see the radiator is mounted on the outside and just replaces the inside fan so you gain some space from losing that and also you do not have the huge CPU cooling fan as well, the water cooler is very low profile, maybe 1” tall, the pump is just Velcro to the bottom of the case and the reservoir goes in one of the 5 & ¼ drive bays. It fit a lot better then I thought and the kit was like $120 or so, so not to expensive but you really need to run a duel core high speed CPU to take advantage and over clock it to like 3.8 that is as highest they say to go and with the water cooler you should still get normal life out of the CPU.

I told my boss it’s his flux capacitor. [smiley=laugh.gif]

Not too shabby.

I'm thinking about obliterating the IHS on my X2 4400+ to try and get a few more mhz out of it. Got it running at 2.6 right now with a Danger Den block.

My setup it down for the moment, though. I soldered a couple resistors to my 7800GTX to up the voltage, 'cept instead of having them turned all the way up, I had them all the way down when I hit the power button.

Didn't even get a second chance. :-/

Oh well. Just another excuse to get that 7900GTX 512. That, and I'm in the process of painting my CM Stacker. Green Metal Flake and Black.
