I woulda been like...nahhhhhhh no way... But then, a couple of weeks ago, my best friend heard me play piano and sing for the first time. She said she expected me to sound like she would, which meant I could carry a tune, but nothing special. I started singing a song from the broadway version of Aida and after I got through the first page, Amy said, "Holy shit Carrie! I didn't know you could sing like that!" Then went on to tell me that if she had a voice like mine, she would never be depressed. I think I have a voice like mine cuz my life has been...well...what it has been....and it's given me richness to put behind my voice.

Now I gotta pick a song that I can sing a capella to try out! They haven't even posted next season's auditions yet...so I can't get too excited!

OK now Sean was the first to hear me sing and play piano over the phone (Jewel's "Foolish Games") so he can tell ya how it really sounds.... I promised not to blow his eardrums out. ;)
