Title: Football world cup... Post by sandie99 on Jun 14th, 2006, 3:49pm ... has found its way to my living room. Now, I'm more into it that I thought in advance! :D Don't get me wrong. I'm not watching each and every game, oh no. Just the ones my faves are playing. But since my fave teams include England, Brazil, Argentina and Holland, I'll be watching few games. But when the two of my faves play against each other later this week, I have no idea which team I will support. But put England and Brazil against each other in the final and I'm going nuts... ;;D Enjoying the games, Sanna ;) |

I love the blatantly obvious statements along the lines of .... "They just can't keep making mistakes and expect to win the ball game" or "You have to capitalize on opportunities to score. And if there aren't any opportunities, you have to create them" or maybe ... |

Must be some of sporting event I guess. http://www.kolobok.wrg.ru/themes/kolobok-light/images/smiles/unknw.gif?SSImageQuality=Full NBC TV took a real beating broadcasting some of it in prime time. Nobody over here cares although soccer/football is more and more a popular school sport. Charlie |

Title: Re: Football world cup... Post by zwibbs/Scott on Jun 19th, 2006, 7:22am The United States still hasn't scored a goal yet...The Italian defender scored one for us. If for whatever reason Italy loses--that poor defender who scored "our" goal , will receive a tomato bath when he returns home. |

Charlie, What are you talking about? The World Cup has been on ABC (not NBC) and ESPN(and ESPN2) and all matches have been live starting at 11:55am EST through 2:55 PM EST. None of them have been on prime time. This cup has been great. The African teams gave been very entertaining. I am really enjoying all the matches except the US ones. They need to stop booking players just for fun. |

Title: Re: Football world cup... Post by Jayne on Jun 19th, 2006, 4:36pm I remember the last world cup I was home on holiday..the atmosphere everywhere was awesome * till they lost* My Sister told me yesterday that everyone had the St George's Flag hanging in their windows. She asked me why I didn't do the same. I laughed at her, and said, what in rednecksville where I live...they wouldn't know what it was, they would think it was a red cross flag and start lining up at my door to get their $15 to give a pint of blood. |

Title: Re: Football world cup... Post by Charlie on Jun 19th, 2006, 8:47pm OK. I'll take your word for it. I don't know where I got that. I screwed up. I should check my "facts." I did see some of the US-Italy tie though. ESPN I suppose. I have too much cable here to keep track. Charlie |
