Title: The taxman cometh
Post by jimmers on Jun 14th, 2006, 9:33am
Appointment today with the state taxman. Evidently, my dipshit ex-partner didn't like to fill out sales tax forms when he was supposed to >:(. Now there trying to say that we owe them a lot of money and they want it now! (Blood from a stone) on my end. When I asked him why he didn't fill out the paperwork he said "What for if we didn't have any money" Unbafuckingbelievable! Before he died, our accountant always told him to at least fill out the paperwork and send it in to acknowledge that we owe.

I am glad to be working for someone else now, and I cannot wait for all of this shit to be over. This has been the most stressfull 2 years of my life, and most of it caused by this dickweed. I thought 12 years ago that I could take this young guy and teach him how to be a businessman, but I think the only thing I taught him was how to be a lazy bastard. It must have been nice for him to make 75K a year and not have to get up until 9am because Jim took care of everything.

Please pray that the taxman is easy on me!

Sorry for the rant, but sometimes I would like to choke the life out of this stupid ass.

More later......

Don't mean to put fuel on the fire, but in my years of practice, I'd rather deal with the Federal Govt than the State on sales tax or unemployment.

Spent 8 hours with a Sales Tax idiot one day quoting chapter and verse to her and at 5:30 in the afternoon she admitted I was RIGHT!  Hell, I was right at 8 that morning.

You might try offering a "payout" plan to them. But hopefully you have records with the "correct" amounts on them or you'll get screwed royally if they estimate how much you owe.

Just don't stress out too much. You can only do what you can do. But I'd have partner right there with me -- he's liable also.

Good Luck

I have a neighbor who has his own DVD rental buisnis.  Apparently for some dumb reason he failed to file his tax returns for the last 5 years.  Now he is having to have it all done and is really getting physically sick over the whole mess.  I will pray for you.

The State taxman is being pretty cool about this, even after my shit for brains ex-partner shows up 15 minutes late to what I would think is a pretty important meeting. He could have said fuck it! your late and you owe it all. When this is all said and done, I am literally going to beat this a-s-shole till he can't breath.

jonny!

I might be callin in the boys to do some dirty work ;;D

Barb is right. I had to deal with New York sales tax morons a few times. They forced the antique business to become more crooked that it was. Shoe boxes of cash are hard to follow. http://www.kolobok.wrg.ru/smiles/standart/taunt.gif?SSImageQuality=Full

Try to keep your head but it can be healing pounding to a pulp those who deserve it. Make sure you're in shape though. http://www.netsync.net/users/charlies/gifs/head smack.gif
