Title: Quick Rant & Question
Post by tanner on Jun 13th, 2006, 11:16am

I have no idea what is going on with me. I managed to get some sleep last night after an almost constant 13 hour battle (short breaks with the next hit harder).

This morning I started getting hit an hour after getting up. I have no idea what the Fuck is causeing this but I am not prepared for much more. anyway I got O2 delivered yesteeday eve could not abort any hits with it but they only sent the cannule thing so i was /am holding the thing in my teeth trying to inhale only thay way. I have sinus problems to boot so does the clustermask have a connect for a bubbler or should I try to get someone to run me out a erbreather from the supply place that does. I did get the correct regulator but i have already used a tank in one night at 15 lpm's any thoughts hints appreciateded .....tim

Tanner,

Sorry you are hurting and this probably isn't going to help much, but using O2 longer than 20 minutes on an attack is just wasting O2. If it's going to work, it's done in 15.  Regardless of the delivery rate,  if you are not getting the volume into your lungs, it' won't work.  Do what you can about geting a non-rebreather ASAP.  It made a world of difference to me.

Sorry you're getting slammed, Tim.  :(
While you're looking for a proper mask, you may want to just try hitting on the tubing, being careful to inhale only through your mouth. Exhale through your nose.
And Rich is right, more than 20 minutes is a waste, and may cause other problems.
I think all bubblers connect through the tubing, not the mask itself. Don't add much water, though. I hear someone almost drowned that way.  ;)
sending pf prayers and vibes, nani

Tim, have you ordered your Clustermasx yet?  And yes, it does have where you can connect the bubbler to it.  Speaking as someone who's O2 failed for her in previous cycles, this last cycle with the Clustermax knocked them out within 15 min.  I use the mouthpiece myself.

I'm very sorry about all the pain you're going through, wish I could end it for ya. :-/

hugs,
mel

It's a NON-rebreather that you want - not a rebreather.

If money is an issue with the O2, try 8 lpm with the non-rebreather for 15 minutes.  If it wokrs, great, if not, back to 15.  8 lpm works for me.

Sorry tannner.......sorry to hear ABOUT you haveing pain at all.......Brad had no sucess with O2 in the past but wasn't useing it rite........so it didn't work and no one then seem'd to know what to do. He'd get it in the mornings when he got up for work and hard to try and dick around with the O2 long and not be late for work. And he'd get hit again around dinnner time and when we went out sumwhere and didn't have O2 with us. Now we have the injectables to learn the ropes on and possibl master the art of useing the o2 correctly to get relief. Too bad we don't have cluster angles here that can travel to people's houses to show them how to do the half shots and all that jazz and use properley  lke little cluster angels !!!Fly  me to a cure Pam I need to hit the hay,,,,,,love ya all Pammie tired coots

goin to bed........sleep tighty thighty..............don't let the bed bugs bit Ekkks !!!!

Tim...the O2 should work almost right away. The cluster mask is the all important thing to have. I know that there are alot of more experienced people than me on this matter, but the proper mask will assist you in a big way..Hang in there buddy---better days are ahead !!!

Thank you all. Today should be interesting as I have a voc rehab guy coming out here to see about getting me back to being a wage earning tax paying member of society (for the back issue), and it looks right now like he is going to find me sucking on O2 or beating my head against the wall.

Rich, Nani, Jaz, Charlie, Fram, Brew, and Mel thank you all. I am using Nani's "mouth" suggestion right now but I should have a proper delivery system later today.

Fram , O2 is one of the few things in life where money is no object, except to the insurance co.

Pam it is almost worth getting slammed to bring you out of hiding :). Unfortunately I am one of the 1 in one million or whatever the stat is that has a bad cardio reaction to trex and all the other trips for that matter. I have written in big red letters on my pharmacy chart NO TRIPTANS or their cousins.

I am trying the double dose of Lyrica even though I now Know that it is so closely related to the zombie med neurontin just because I will try anything new. I am either a Sucker or was a guinea pig in my last life.

Gotta go move my ass to the living room and get ready for my spine injury mentor. He already thinks I'm a basket case, wait til he sees the 6 cans of air. Maybe I will tell him I want to be rehabbed to be a dive instructor 8)

Thanks again and y'all have a great day and stay or get PF!

 Tim
